That was changed a pretty long time ago...

For Chinese citizens they re-added the need of a 72hr PCR test but that was temporarily due to an outbreak, afaik it was removed too

I also got friends who just went to Japan now so even if it was a right after I went thing, it's not. Seems it was a hoax or something - I didn't hear about it tbf

I think it's because Japan did take longer to remove the restrictions but still lol
