I literally don’t have any pet peeves
the very high rate of AFKers and people only rping within their circles makes me kind of open to receiving just about any, no matter the diction.

I try to do my /mes in a literary writing style, as in writing them like a passage from a book.

It helps immersion into the story, providing a bit of context to a situation without being direct about it.

This. This all the way.

Though I will never forget the first time I played on TnB 10 years ago and I ran into the nexus, saying "HOW DO IPLAY??" and "CAN I BE A COP TOO?" in ic. Good times

Me joining Nebulous for the first time, with the mindset that it was the place for „pro roleplayers“ back in 2018 like:

Thoughts in /mes isn't shitting on people's writing style, it's shitting on their complete reading comprehension.

Somehow they took 'describing physical actions' as manifesting ideas inside their head invisible to everyone around them, especially when 99% of them are /me thinks the guy is retarded, which is just being upset OOC and trying to let them know in a /me so they don't get accused of flaming in LOOC

I made a thread about how people need to stop nitpicking each other’s roleplay and the entire response has been people nitpicking each other’s roleplay

What did I learn? Never trust a roleplayer!

nebulous in a nutshell

better to have long /me's than people going around doing "/me gets hit in the gut with baton" followed by "/me stares angrily at cop"

I'm biased because I was in an RP where you couldn't have /me's longer than a sentence and a few words. We made do with short emotes.

it's a problem if you need to convey a bunch of information but choose to do it in multiple /me's - people may think you're finished, type their action and suddenly it's a clusterfuck.

plus, often those who choose the multiple /me route whittle down their language; I'm not saying everyone does it but it's common.

yeah in gmod theres no excuse for why you can't do a longer /me if you need to but imo i have the opinion that

/me laughs.

is as good as

/me lets air vibrate through their lungs as they emit a sound which indicates that what they just heard was hilarious blah blah
