if people are happier identifying with x sexuality or gender than whats the big deal. i think its pretty neat :>

What's so wrong with going beyond traditional definitions of sexuality and exploring beyond there being two genders? Gender ≠ Sex. Sexuality isn't as rigid as we make it out to be with our own constructed definitions.

Idk I’m like an old fashioned parent unable to understand ‘kids these days’, if you wanna be gay or bi or whatever that’s cool, my philosophy is so long as ur sexuality isn’t kids, animals, or you don’t make it your entire personality (cause the really girly drama queen gay people give me a headache) then I’m happy for you.

But now you’ve got this 1,000 genders thing that I don’t get, whats the new meaning for gender, I’ve always been taught it’s just what’s between ur legs, and to consider it as something else just... doesn’t click in place so well.

It’s just odd to me, it doesn’t really match anything I’ve ever felt in my life nor anything I’ve seen amongst friends and family and as such I really struggle to sympathise with the idea :/

'1,000 genders thing' is a real absurd number, are you sure it's that many?

maybe we shouldn't worry about the number in this instance and just go 'hey man whatever the fuck you want' and not care unless it actually harms people i mean y'know not to appeal to the masses but at the least in the LGBT thread it's p cool to just respect people for whatever the fuck they believe in. it's not 1000 genders it's 'i'm attracted to these types of people' categorized

I find it admirable that people defy the gender stereotypes imposed on us, even moreso by creating their own genders, which evade the intrinsic paranoia of our society that wants to understand everything and assimilate it. I'm also happy that people are getting to know their sexualities better, not defined simply by the lust for men or women or both, as sexuality is nuanced too.
