but the server in it's entirety? there's a giant mix of people and i've been having fun thus far

because playing this server actually takes a shred of creativity to get into and play a normal person rather than some shitty gmod server

It’s a whitelist gate don’t think it aptly does much of... anything. There is no creativity to the app, 4/5 forms are near copy paste (I tried not to and try to be just descriptive with my first app, denied) and the biography is whatever, I just made up a character I’d never use.

mans the characters in there are rough. It’s cat girl cafes, generic gangsters who use to start sentences and end them repeatedly with the same term, cliques up the ass, bland boring self inserts.

this is why i dont play much anymore. the setting is so jarg to me, a lot of it (not all of it) is just real life RP but more cringe - its mainly self-inserts, racist people or folks who can't exert authority in real life so they take it out on video games. you've really gotta jam yourself into a clique to feel at home but at that point you've already started out with people you know so its not nearly as engaging of a story because you've basically mutually agreed that you'll be loyal pals forever and you can't keep up the same level of consistent roleplay

best time i had was when me and @Powley had just started playing and we were truly just trying to figure shit out and make friends IC it was cool i loved that but even that becomes second life eventually when you've ran the same routine of night-club jumping for so many nights in a row.

think i'll give it a proper run again some time with minimal support from the homeboys so i can jam myself into contacts and shit completely on my own.

I think the biggest thing that puts me off about branching out without OOC support is in such a massive community you're more likely to bump into the total retard gangs that never get anywhere or have some weird OOC shit behind the scenes than you are the proper, solid gangs - and even then it isn't really like HL2RP where you're all united with a goal and getting into RP as a whole is super easy.

Literally unless you make a character to go and join 'x' group you're not really too liable to get anywhere because realistically people don't just up and decide to be criminals IRL.

most you need ooc pals for is making a faction, i've had the most fun just reaching out and meeting people ic on fresh characters.

but you're under no obligation to make the character you applied with
