no they’re not. GTA will have in game phones and radio. Using discord/TS to coordinate in game will be considered metagaming.

it’s literally metagaming. The things people are used to in HL2RP will not be continuing in GTA without repercussions. Use the in game phones, radios, or speak to another character directly.

No, it will be far more relaxed because it’s not super serious as HL2 RP is but it’s still serious RP.

You will still be expected to roleplay your character and stay in character for the most part, metagaming isn’t going to be allowed and will ruin the experience for others if you do, so it will result in a hefty ban and lowering in queue priority if there is one.

wait until cops are allowed to overhear these things or rules regarding pulling out radios and phones mid combat or some y'know 'balance necessities' come in

this doesn't just happen in hl2rp the cheese tactics regarding these items will get called out and then discord will get prevalent

easier to launch discord before you launch the game, doubly so when you're in a conversation beforehand
or like me, where you're the only person whom you knew and speak to regularly that actually played roleplay

creates a lot of work to have to try zoning out metagame instead of just having a baseline stance of 'try not to, but whatever'
easiest option is to provide everyone a radio, or keep the price insanely low to create a 'zero-excuse' scenario
still difficult to topple when everyone launches discord before a game or needs to share their radio code

You’ll be able to talk on the radio just by pressing a bind lol, it’s as easy as talking in proximity.

It'll be "this guy just drove half way across the city to help their buddy in a chase and there's no logs of phone use" instead of "I have to sort out the details of this super personal PK appeal".

Discord is always gonna happen, nobody is gonna care if you aren't implicated in shady shit.

Either that or the player had no way of knowing about how X mechanic worked that you needed to put work into to figure out.

We’ll closely monitor this kinda stuff, where some may think this is far less serious, it isn’t.

Metagame isn't likely to be much of an issue when the main incentives won't exist to do it as opposed to other servers honestly.

There are numerous things that people will feel inclined to metagame, from helping their buddies who are downed or in cuffs across the city, new bank robbing mechanics, to figuring out drug/weapon production/distribution, high stakes plot info, or whatever.

Some/many of these things will be gatekept behind RP stories or intended for more trusted individuals, and because of that, there are going to be people who will feel inclined to meta to obtain and subsequently spread that information for their own or their group's benefit.
