Makes sense, since I wasn't around for fakelands era, what was the terrain of the fakelands like? Does anyone have screenshots of it? I'm honestly curious to know cause I never seen it even now despite hearing about it a lot in the community

There's a thousand more pictures I could post, but looking back in retrospect it really wasn't anything special to anybody apart from the people who were playing at the time or looking from the outside in. We sat around a pretend playground, a figment of the once booming Lemonpunch Outlands, playing in the snow and creating our own fun, drama and infighting as we really didn't have an event team or the possibility of the external event server to carry us through narrative-wise. Strange things would happen in a day-to-day, people would come back from month-long character hiatuses to applause and grievances from the characters that had missed them over, sometime multiple real-life-months. It was like a self-writing choose your own adventure slice of life deal and while it's funny to look back at all the autistic drama, and the squabbles, and the bridges burnt from them?

It was beautiful and I miss it.

Some screenshots look nice and I'd still go on to say it is still impressive that it worked and allowed people to RP and putting it together prolly was no easy task with managing how many props to use, no death traps or stuck spots (i'm guessing) so nice job on people who assembled it, but these screenshots still make it look uhh not so great

yknow theres people who rp entirely in textchat or discord. i dont think it mattered to any of us exactly how our virtual playground looked like, just that we could tell our stories on there and make our own fun. it was an era of whatever the opposite of spoonfeeding was and almost every memory i've got from there is playdriven initiative. even if it looked like low poly dogshit it was ours.

this is a perfect summary of why it was magic ^

the aftermath of one of the most bewildering clusterfucks known to man

still irritated that someone with personal stakes in the appeal got given the authority to resolve it but whatever, I went on to make a vastly better character (slav jesus who lived solely off charity and died for the sins of drug addicts [you])

Wasn't whatever that happened here like 4 years ago

Are you traumatized by a roleplay appeal

Well uhh big props make do and it was surprisingly efficient too- Clockwork would've never and even with Helix at times it was funny but not terrible
Yeah the entire fakelands itself was a rather small number of props. The bases people built within were probably the most intensive part of that.

I wasn't too terribly invested in Fakelands or RebelRp at that point but whenever it comes up its a pretty even split between "It was dogshit and we PK'd eachother bc it was so boring there" and "It was cool actually."

But it was also the last era where RebelRp was truly capable of telling its own stories to keep people engaged, even if a lot of the time it was sketchy (see that one PK appeal where the person who died complained the person they tried to PK managed to kill them instead even when they were sent to talk, not start a firefight).

At the time it was a lot of drama and bullshit but there was a lot of cool stuff too.
