Romania, taken during the 1989 Revolution. I'd guess.
You'd guess right.

The meme potential of this picture is off the charts

Matt Pat wielding an AK-47?
The fact it looks like that one meme of the small turkish dude
The guy chilling in the background
Yea, i thought it aswell.
But it also shows how quickly and eagerly young people during times of revolution, well anytime were so quick to grab guns and go head first into gunfire. In seek of glory.
Kind of like how the people saw wars before The Great War.

No clue why you'd have those saved. But please show.

fun facts about the 1989 rev according to my romanian grandmother

When the demonstrations and rioting broke out in the Hungarian speaking parts of Transylvania, industrial workers from her region were loaded up on trains and given clubs and whatnot, and told to go break up the "rioting Magyars"
Much to the chagrin of the authorities, they just joined in

Anyone have any collections of Cold War military pictures / videos? I'd appreciate stuff from European countries in particular as its harder to find, for adding to RP documents and the like. And just for personal collection.
yeah give me till the end of the week so my pc will be finally fixed and ill shoot you a folder of webms and like 350 images

First photo is a Luftwaffe airman in WWII.

Second one is an American MP in the early Cold War.

Third one is British tankers in a light tank.

Fourth is Soviet soldiers leaving Afghanistan.

Fifth is Soviet soldiers on parade, probably WWII (or pre-1950) given the portrait of Stalin and the SVT-40.

But aside from that, cool German photos.

In Bela Tarr's seven-hour episodic film, inhabitants of a small village in Hungary deal with the effects of the fall of Communism. The town's source of revenue, a factory, has closed, and the locals, who include a doctor (Putyi Horvath) and three couples, await a cash payment offered in the wake of the shuttering. Irimias (Mihaly Vig), a villager thought to be dead, returns and, unbeknownst to the locals, is a police informant. In a scheme, he persuades the villagers to form a commune with him.
