essentially using a specialized bullet to propel the grenade over distances further than you can throw

good idea in theory, kinda shit in practice, only really caught on with the French

I believe it's an FAL or a G3 (the image title said G3, so I assume it's the latter) and also yes! It's a rifle grenade, it was used during both world wars, it required a special attachment on the end of the rifle. It's also used in the modern military, mostly for door breaching I believe? I found a video from 2012 on Wikipedia, I can't directly link it but I can link the Wikipedia article.
