Anyways so I started doing research on my great-grandparents, and what I concluded was that they're pretty different and diverse.

One of my great grandmothers Wivian Bremnes got asthma and other allergies so she became a fisherwoman, and bought her own boat. Didn't know that before today so I know where the fisherman genes are from.
Norwegian equivalent of BBC interviewed her in 1977.

One of my other great grandfathers Ragnar Hansen aka Grand Hansen was originally branded as a nazi for helping the nazis during the war, but later on a few years ago branded as a war hero for his effort and organising skills to evacuate northern Norway when the Nazis were using scorched earth tactic as Russia broke through their front lines. There were a total of 75,000 refugees during the evacuation.

Then there is my other great grandfather who were a communist, and was lived in his late teens during World War II. He was working for the nazi's digging holes, construction and whatnot. He also told me stories about how sometimes he helped the partisans smuggle in goods that the Russians had sent over. Tobacco, Vodka, and more. After the war he travelled around the world and took different courses in paint jobs, car mechanics until he finally opened up his own Subaru dealership here in Vardø. During the cold war in 1959 he helped Vardø Town Orchestra getting into Russia. Nobody had valid visas or IDs with them. The fishing boat got through, and they got on the nearby island that is not too far out from us. They were then later on let in into Murmansk, and had a concert to the lovely Russians during the iron curtain.

A documentary film was made about it too;

my great grand father avoided conscription for WW1, after that he enlisted in the army as he felt guilty

fought in the battle of france during ww2, narrowly escaped capture and took a boat to algeria where he joined the free french forces and was part of the 2nd armored division that stormed utah beach with patton and liberated paris

nobody else in my family really did anything

According to my dad, one of my great grandfathers did smuggling and transport for the resistance during the Nazi occupation of Denmark back in the 1940s.

Pretty cool stuff.

Well, My last name is norman So I would assume my ancestry comes from Normandy and most likely came to England as a soldier for William the Conquer so that's something. My grandfather is dead on my mother sides though my Great grandfather is alive though he was born in early 1940 however he served the RAF for some time.

Great Grandfather fought in the Six Day War in an Isreali Motorized Company.

My Grandmother was a Tactical Diver (whatever they do).

My uncle's either a baller or a huge fag, he has a new woman every time we meet.
[doublepost=1467466276][/doublepost]Oh yeah, and my step-grandpa was in the USSR during the 80s and got arrested by the Politburo. Stayed there for 3 days longer than he was supposed to due to investigations before narrowly getting out and heading home to Sweden immedeatly.

my granddad was a small time resistance fighter in copenhagen during german occupation in ww2rp. he stole a p38 from a nazi officer in a night club, and then the nazis ran after my granddad and his friends, where they shot my granddads friend in the back.

my grandmoms sister left for USA pre-ww1 to seek love and met a man in new york, who turned out to be in some underground cult where they sacrificed shit, so she left that guy, went upstate where she found a new man and made my family in USA. their son helped designing some constructions in new york and the reconstruction of queens bridge so now the US-part of my family is pretty rich.

A few Colonels, a Captain and a Lieutenant, a lawyer, a judge, a doctor, a maternity nurse, an electrician, a warrant officer, school teachers, an IRA hitman responsible for the death of I believe 5, a tank commander in Rommel's desert operations. This is all going back 200+ years, more than 60 years before Canada was a country.
