that's why you always have a brush or something between doorways with a different texture, diffuses the shadow change (you're always going to get that in source unless you rely on dynamic lights and you simply can't do that on a large roleplay map)

also helps prevent clipping problems with doors if something fucks up the placement (e.g certain entities)

thank you to alex for giving me the vmf after i could not get into it

more to follow.
just had a thought from your original plan, if this building is still a part of it, replace the ladder/staircase with a d47 style elevator, when you can only use the escape hatch when the elevator isn’t on ground level, and with the elevator being the only option, it gives mfers time to prepare if cops are doing searches as they need to use a long slow elevator
