Isn't the OP enough info tho? ._.

They're talking about the lore.

No D&D game should ever just be "D&D"

Is it a war between Elves and Orcs?

Are Dragons common?

What's magic like?

Etc.

@Expax the OP says for us to choose our desired starting gear and stuff, is there a limit on what we can choose? id much prefer us to start low-mid tier so that we can have a sense of progression.

When I made the OP I assumed people would know it meant low tier gear.

Imo you should just start with class basics.

Fighter gets sword, shield and leather armour, etc.

i also assume we're playing with standard skills and feats too?

actually for extra clarification we're doing a straight up d&d 3.5e but in text format right

also is there any chance of refining the ability score rules i feel like my character is going to be really weak

this is a better method imo

the avg point pool is 28 apparently - as in you make it so players are only allowed to spend 28 points

It's not hard to work it out.

I'm not a fan of dice rolling since you can end up with a character with max on all stats and another guy with shit stats on everything.

At least with point buying, it's fair.

oh that
its just much simpler to have a visual aid doing the math for you and keeping track of everything when you might be jumping between different stat variations since you'd have 28 points to allocate rather than 0

I just follow a "Add one, remove one" guide.

can we just get a convo / thread up so we know exactly whats what both in limits and in maximums here

dnd is already confusing as is to a new player like me who's only read the books and never gotten a chance to actually play; no need to confuse more :(
