or, like me; you just don't understand why people aren't more up in arms about the fact that this is basically a FromSoftware asset flipmad because you couldn't defeat the asylum demon :^)
idk sounds to me like you lvl dexor, like me; you just don't understand why people aren't more up in arms about the fact that this is basically a FromSoftware asset flip
there's a difference between taking inspiration in the form of art or gameplay; and literally ripping movesets and entire chunks of artidk sounds to me like you lvl dex
[doublepost=1623507315][/doublepost]alright alright but in all seriousness guys
you clearly don't play a lot of dark souls/soulsborne games if you haven't realized that every game pulls from the others
every game has a firekeeper role, every game has bosses/enemies that are inspired be it in art design or how they play out from enemies in their other games
elden ring taking inspiration from other soulsborne games isn't surprising and if you actually play the games you'd know that lol, you see a few minute reveal and you've already found something to cope and seethe about
alright, "fallout new vegas fucking sucks because it looks exactly like fallout 3 with a slightly different coat of paint."there's a difference between taking inspiration in the form of art or gameplay; and literally ripping movesets and entire chunks of art
i'm a huge fan of bloodborne, personally (dark souls doesn't appeal to me as much but even so) and yet here i am, not thrilled
you don't need to gatekeep your franchise by going "you clearly don't play a lot"
it's obvious enough to anyone with eyes that this is content ripping - the game might still be enjoyable, and fair play to anyone who likes this game, but it's peak consoomer culture to just blindly follow the brands/producers you like and not acknowledge any of their faults
edit: all this being said; pot goblin is my son now
or, like me; you just don't understand why people aren't more up in arms about the fact that this is basically a FromSoftware asset flip
first off i think you ought to calm downalright, "fallout new vegas fucking sucks because it looks exactly like fallout 3 with a slightly different coat of paint."
that is your logic here, and it's pretty fucking retarded. you see a few minute reveal and you immediately jump to conclusions and find something to complain about, honestly not surprised.
so you have an opinion about this game, that's fairfirst off i think you ought to calm down
secondly: nobody is complaining because the game is in the same engine; i'm just expressing my disinterest for the game due to the fact that there is literal asset flipping going on in the form of bosses; the whole point of dark souls
i'm sorry, but if you're telling me you're playing dark souls to get involved in its convoluted plot that's filled with more holes than swiss cheese, then you're lying to yourself
comparing fallout nv and fallout 3; alongside soulsborne games and elden ring isn't even remotely similar, and you know it, so stop adding pointless conjecture to try and justify your point of view
sometimes people aren't going to like the things you like, and that's okay - you don't need to aggress them because they explained the things they're not fond of - this is a thread where anyone can discuss the game, regardless of whether or not they've already thrown their money at it, literally or figuratively
it's literally not an asset flip though, for it to be an asset flip you would literally have to put the actual bosses from the earlier souls games into it copy pasted models and shaders and everything, a repeat of some key animations and some callback characters to previous games in the series are soul's bread and butter, meanwhile you argue that FNV isn't an asset flip when you can literally port the entirety of Fo3's plot into it and corrupt nothing, see: A Tale of Two Wastelands, I'm not going to argue the semantics with you all day because frankly I get where you're coming from in a way but as a game designer it always makes me seethe when consumers see a similar character model, but one that literally has wildly upgraded shaders, textures and probably serves an entirely different purpose within the game, especially in soulsborne games and automatically assume that it's an "asset flip" throwing that term around like they have any idea what it actually is, this shit takes a lot of effort, I'm looking forward to seeing how Elden Ring works its way into the overall lore, for all we know this could be set in the Dark Souls universe and this world is a precursor to the age of fire in the Souls games.first off i think you ought to calm down

u guys are entitled to your opinions but pls be civil about it
:grinning:
I don’t know why anyone who’s a fan of the series would be up in arms about an open world dark souls game, which is literally what everyone who enjoys the series has been saying for years. this sounds like the kind of meaningless complaint I’d find in some polygon article dying to get clicks for a controversial opinionor, like me; you just don't understand why people aren't more up in arms about the fact that this is basically a FromSoftware asset flip
