I loved the boomers. I'd never in the entirety of any game went "you know what I wanna do? dive face first into the ocean and explore it" except Oblivion because of those lizard people who could breath water. Meanwhile exploring the lake to find the bomber was actually really fucking cool.
The Boomers really just don't sell to me on account of the characters in the faction just being so bland and 1D, none of the people in it are actually memorable or come off as unique.

Characters in the Brotherhood really make the quests good, especially if you do the Veronica questline alongside the standard BOS quests, really makes for good writing.

iirc it's because it was meant to have a much bigger part in the game but along with a lot of other stuff was cut.

You can really tell, it just feels hollow and it's very easy to notice that not all of it's there.

Example being the flight sim pods.

Yeah. iirc the boomers were meant to be an actual faction like the NCR/Legion that you could ally with and work with them to take the Mojave, but just like the Brotherhood, they were cut down to pmuch nothing.

I made the mistake of using quick save and now I've lost like 10 hours of gameplay due to my save files becoming so corrupted I can't play for more than ten minutes without crashing.

I started playing for the enclave, seems like a decent mod, voice acting and Sergeant Dornan Jr are fucking cringy though.

About to start up DUST, seems like a good mod that you can easily pour dozens of hours into.

I just finished Dead Money for the first time and I'm gonna be honest, I didn't really enjoy it.

If you've not played it yet, obviously there's spoilers ahead and you shouldn't keep reading.

The mechanics of avoiding the radios just really bugged me beyond all reasonable belief. It'd have been fine if I could always easily see them and be aware of if its a radio or a speaker I could break or not break. I died *SO* many times, especially towards the end. Jumping puzzles with kill zones, traps and resurrecting enemies all in a dark environment does not make for fun gameplay. Sure, it was actually kinda spooky but stealth isn't really an option when everyone outside of God attract a lot of attention.

It also really annoyed me when I as a character had completed the other expansions (Old World Blues, Lonesome Road) and couldn't talk to Christine about it at all. She spoke a lot about Ulysses and Big MT, etc and all I could do was just ask about it. There was even a dialogue choice where she asks if you've heard of the Big MT and you can say you've never heard of it. I'd have loved, no, ADORED it if I could have been like "oh yeah I went to big MT" and "I met Ulysses, I'm the courier he was talking about", etc. I as a stealth-crit-sniper build character carry around Christine's sniper rifle too. Sure I didn't have it on me and I get that I couldn't bring it to her at Sierra Madre cause of the security systems, but it would have been fucking awesome to be able to go "I actually have your sniper rifle, it's helped me a lot" and actually talk to her about it and ask why she left it, etc.

I know Dead Money was released first, but my point is that even then if done in release order it still won't add any extra dialogue. I'd have liked that to be the case with Old World Blues and Lonesome Road too. By that I mean talk to Ulysses and/or the scientists of Big MT about Christine or vise versa. It would have been great for character development, offer more rewards for players that complete the other expansions too, etc. It's just upsetting.

Don't get me wrong or think I'm one of those people that think New Vegas isn't good or 4 is better, I love and adore New Vegas, hell if it was remastered in the same engine as 4 and allowed players the new mechanics from 4 (e.g: building) it'd be the best game for a few years.

For the record, I loved Lonesome Road as it actually provided a lot of interesting information about the main character and the incidents that occured before the game and I liked Old World Blues despite a few problems here and there, but Dead Money just wasn't satisfying at all. Not even in its final moments. My expectations: "I made it to the elevator, the whole place is exploding, lets get upstairs, grab Christine and fucking run as fast as we can outta there!" What happened: "I made it to the elevator, the whole place is exploding, teleported outside of the casino gates. I was in such disbelief at such a flat ending that I went back inside to see where Catherine was and as I entered the suites she said something over the intercom about the Vera and I went to the room she was supposed to be in and nothing. Even checked the rest of the suites and still nothing. Just gone.

TLDR: I'm really upset about how a really well presented and thematically scary expansion was ruined by bad game design and missed opportunities.

On another note, what's your favourite New Vegas expansion and why?

(19:43) Gilford Colton says "I'm going to impale myself by running off the bridge. Farewell. My work here is done."
(19:43) ** 'A short and stout man wi...' narrows his eyes and unfolds his arms, clenching his fists tightly as he takes a single step towards the man, glaring up at him 'In a moment, I would show you precisely what we do in here. You go do that, and bother me no more.
(19:43) ** Gilford Colton takes off his clothes and suddenly starts to dance, he would obviously be high on some kind of drugs

(19:44) 'A short and stout man wi...' says "Augustus; get rid of this degenerate, by any means you deem fit..."
(19:44) ** 'A tall, healthy adult hu...' would look over at the Prime Decanus, nodding his head and unsheathing his gladius.

(19:44) ** 'A tall, healthy adult hu...' would swing at the man's knees, crippling him.
(19:45) Gilford Colton says "Now it's alright it's oka-"

(19:45) ** Gilford Colton get's slashed into his knees, beginning to scream
(19:45) Gilford Colton says "AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAARGH, you F-F-UCKERS."
(19:45) ** 'A short and stout man wi...' clasps his hands behind his back as he watches the Scout work

(19:45) ** 'A tall, healthy adult hu...' would bring the machete back by the hilt towards the center of his chest, position himself overtop of the man and gouging the gladius into the center of the man's neck.
(19:46) ** Gilford Colton finishes the last words of "Staying Alive" by the beegees, stating his last words as he dies

Is this from the NV:MP mod or something else?
