tried explaining and got hit with that ‘IC is ic’ gaze


i really wonder what people like that are up to these days because that sorta thing cannot have come from a healthy place

I kept getting PKed in my first play-through of Lemonpunch for falling down by mistake because of bugged ladders. Their explanation was ‘IC is IC’.

A cop straight up PKed me for being AFK in the middle of the plaza.

i remember getting flagged autonomous on lmy first day as a cop on lemonpunch because i chased a guy into the opening of the grizzly grotto alleyway on i17 because he didnt want to tell me why he wanted me to follow him

Fun flashbacks this time to my 00 officer being asked to tag along with a 75, who walked right into the grotto, merc'd the guy on the stage, and promptly had us leg it back into the city, I still don't know why.

UMs activity up until like 2020 consisted solely of joe Bluesuit coming up in critical condition only to go "i tripped and hurt my leg" after falling 7 stories off a source ladder

I remember there was some dumb rule where if u suspected someone of doing illegal shit as UM you had to call in the cops, including "i tripped and broke my leg" so UM would always be filled with like 5 cops patting down mr "my father was killed by combean" cause he said he hurt his leg before getting escorted off like a lame horse

its a great way to make a dynamic rp hub

a friend of mine whos never rped on hl2rp [sincerely] to my knowledge goes on and builds an entire god damn gym with weights and a boxing ring and dominican music via stream radio and people flocked to it and participated in a fight club or just trained

it was really cool

Tbh I legitimately wouldn't have stuck around LP if my very first experience was a plaza full of people sprinting around like DarkRP lmao. Luckily it was actually incredibly immersive and drew me in.

So while I don't care that running was punishable I hated that people would see someone shift+w and go "NO YOU NEED TO BE BEATEN FOR IT."

Literally 1984

1984 is infinitely more respectable as a setting than the average 13 year old's idea of a dystopia (they beat you for small things.. a lot!! :(( ) projected into the empty signifier that is the half life 2 universe

if anything the proletarian are MORE free in 1984 and the authoritarian element comes from the fact that they're allowed to mess about and enjoy themselves as long as they remain completely stripped of political influence
