Fun fact, do you know that "pepperoni" in italian doesn't mean the sausage thing you put on the "pizza" but rather sweet pepper, in fact there's no such thing as "pepperoni pizza" in Italy, you can get various pizza toppings that can more or less equate to that but you can't get a "pepperoni pizza" unless you go to an italo-italoamerican pizzeria that specifically cooks "pepperoni pizza" but I doubt any exists at all. "Pepperoni" are an italo-american tradition, not an italian tradition. Another thing is that unlike "american pizza", which is composed for 99% of thick, molten cheese with a bit of tomato sauce, the standard italian pizza is composed mostly of tomato souce with some cheese, unless you specifically choose a pizza with an high additional cheese as topping; there as some people that even go so far as going in Italy, eating pizza there and saying that "They don't like italian pizza", which is basically the equivalent of saying "I don't like japanese sushi", these people are almost as bad as those who puts ketchup instead of tomato sauce on pasta.
