such a good game for the art style/graphics alone

it was disappointing to see ME: catalyst tone it down a bit with the style compared to the original mirror's edge, but some areas still retain the previous game's feel, which looks fantastic w/ frostbite 3 as it's engine. the combat in catalyst was really fun too

its a shame, i did play a bit of catalyst but it didnt hook me
the original literally hasnt aged really at all though, apart from maybe - the faces

the story was pretty bad imo, but the gameplay was really solid for me. it still looks astonishingly good too considering it was released four years ago. the level design wasn't as good in some areas, but i suppose that's what happens when you switch from a controlled level environment to an open world environment.

late, but games like mirror's edge are why i still largely think less games should be going down the open world route

it's why i kinda dont want to see another splinter cell, because i know ubisoft would probably make it into a boring open world game - despite the fact that polished levels akin to the new hitman games in size would likely fit better
