And AMD has some sick ass stock coolers too — especially the Wraith Spire.Intel's 7 series has a lot of overheating issues.

i've got an i5 7700k and games run just fine for me??Just wanted to post, don't get an i5 if you want to play any games that have come out this year or after becasuse it's pretty much obsolete.

A L LTry running the latest assassins creed, you'll see your CPU at 100% on all cores; That's pretty bad. Also the i5 is the 7600K not the 7700K which is an i7.
i'll have my brother family share it and see if my computer melts xxTry running the latest assassins creed, you'll see your CPU at 100% on all cores; That's pretty bad. Also the i5 is the 7600K not the 7700K which is an i7.
tbh the new i5 8400 rivals the 7700k and has 6c + 6t so your advice isn't exactly true for coffee lakeTry running the latest assassins creed, you'll see your CPU at 100% on all cores; That's pretty bad. Also the i5 is the 7600K not the 7700K which is an i7.

honestly ryzen is still good but the i5 8400 is at the same price point as the ryzen 1600 and has far superior gaming performance, just with less threads but still repping the 6 cores.Which do you have, the 7700K or the 7600K? It won't have issues but it'll be a bottleneck and all cores will max out, i5's are at the end of life.

Completely forgot that Coffee Lake was even out tbh with you. You're right though, 6c i5's should be fine although I'd recommend Ryzen 5 over Coffee Lake personally.
