The most frustrating thing about the old WI for me was that when it wasn't being too hammy it provided great RP and people genuinely enjoyed it - and at their peak they were pretty much the one faction who dared piss off The Resistance and took the IC backlash for it on the chin for the sake of RP.

The problem was when he went off the rails and pissed the community off with his weird brand of humour and there was nothing we could really do except advise him he, y'know, not do that stuff. That was sort of the case even before I joined on LP when WI was active alongside Wagner, apparently.

Honestly Willard Infustries was done for before Atle left, it was a faction that ran its course.

I'm not saying anything like the faction leadership is bad or the such, but I think the faction could be replaced with something far more active and productive.

If things like the Terminal (just an example) had the time WI had to try and recover it might be something different.

I know, that doesn't make people who act like retards and then complain about retards any less hypocritical.

I've already forbidden all of those things before leaving faction leadership and my colleagues reassured the prohibition.

I think the faction could be replaced with something far more active and productive.

Right now, there's projects on going. At this very moment a workshift organized by UIRD with the help of CWU is being done, a joint effort, and no admin stuff was involved, just players cooperating.

It's working again, and people's enjoying it. Just an insight of the faction right now. Activity is still low... Well, because the server is still on low activity. At this moment there's 39 people in the server, and it's at its... Highest point right now, which is kind of sad.

To be fair though WI had a shit reputation from literally the day it came back because nobody gave it a chance and instantly binned it based on the prior history on LP.

The Purple Cheese Drink meme was literally an in-faction joke that someone decide to throw up on the forums as a legitimate complaint and, in the same way Neb usually does, made it absolute fact that this was a genuine project and all WI did with their projects.

It wasn't, but Atle's mistake was running with it and making it legitimate.

WI didn't get 'chances' really, they just didn't get removed. None of the factions did - The Terminal died because people lost interest (several times) and realised nobody read the lore that much and the UP died because of Fac Lead infighting with zero direction and zero ideas for the future before something came along that, for a time, did its job but better.

WI never had that - they never had infighting and always consistently kept pushing forward. The times they flagged low they never emptied out.

And hell the only other science faction ever seen tried to release a killer virus and other dumb shit.

Don't see him doing it right now, plus he is rather inactive (I don't blame him, he is allowed to play whatever he wants). I'll just say that there's many different situations, with many different issues and outcomes. You never know what you're dealing with unless it's shit simple or you're dealing with it directly.

And I can tell you I wasn't intending any zingers, I was being maybe way too direct, but in the end, I meant what I said: I wouldn't expect him, or anyone who isn't fully informed on a first person basis, to know what a pain it was to turn WI into UIRD, or what is the same, a faction of little to no true organization that needed a single specific person to live, into an organized faction that allows whoever is there to lead it. As a matter of fact, I wanted to make UIRD a faction that could last no matter who leads it, tried to make it simple and easy to lead, because it was very hard to do in the past, simply because lack of communication, information and organization.

There's still a lot to do, but I've seen changes in the right direction and I like it.
