I'm hopefully looking to go to a firing range when I go to New York next month. Now it's been about 5 years since I fired a proper rifle and even then it was a dodgy L98 with it's one-hand-to-operate bullpup design. Was wondering what firearms from this range's list would be good to shoot first time? Looking to shoot maybe a pistol and a rifle, as well as a revolver depending on the price

pistols are the most difficult to shoot

i'd go 5.56 rifles or something, recoil and aiming is very mild with those

you can always go down to pistols/up to 7.62 afterwards when you've warmed up

what about one of the submachine guns, like the vector

1200 rpm

hilarity ensues

unless you're comfortable shooting full auto i wouldn't do it with something that has a very high rof
hm, i'm only used to semi-auto as well as bolt action from the lee enfields we used to shoot

Honestly if you’re not completely acclimated to shooting rifles, I discourage full auto.

Absolutely nothing anyone says can prepare you for what a full auto feels like. Just a couple of mags will make your shoulder feel sore for days, trust me.

Edit: Also, revolvers are super fun to shoot if you have good recoil control when it comes to pistols.

depends on the caliber of the round

fired 4 mags of 5.56 in a row full auto and felt nothing the day after

might be different with a more punchy round like 7.62 tho

yeah dont shoot full auto then unless you have a RSO right behind you

the galil sounds pretty tempting to shoot but yeah, that's a big ol' round compared to the .22 and 5.56 i'm used to
