I really do think the actors themselves portrayed their individual characters quite well e.g., Harley Quinn was actively reinforced as both sexy & insane but also clever & cruel. I believe the script writers had a difficult time putting a concrete plot due to so many character's needing development and balancing all those in a nicely wrapped 2 hour package.

Jack Nicholsons joker was the best.

Hell even the 60's joker was great.

shit thing is in those times comic books were highly diluted and the joker was more of a comic relief character who pulled epic pranks instead of doing anything threatening.
They need new actors like Heath or even Leto to portray ones like new 52 Joker.
Jack Nicholson was fantastic in portraying that type of Joker but the type of Comics what are being released now need new actors who can portray new Jokers.
