THE CORONA CLASSIC
EPISODE THREE: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK

A nebulous community game

Although shorter, the second Corona Classic was just as enjoyable as the first. Ending more quickly this time due to the upcoming HL2RP event and the announcement of the game's new DLC, Emperor coming out on June 9th, it is now time for a new game. We will (of course) be playing with the new expansion, which sees many changes to Europe, namely the Holy Roman Empire, Catholicism, France, and the Balkans.

Because of this, the playable area remains the same as last game, being Euro-centric, only spanning outside slightly into North Africa and the Middle East. Nations are first-come first-serve, and those that attended the last session of episode two were given a chance to reserve nations ahead of time. To sign up, simply respond to the thread with your nation of choice. If a majority of the map becomes filled up, we can consider moving the playable area further east; however, to maintain balance, we will need to have multiple players in Asia to avoid a runaway game for a solo Asia player.

Currently, the first session is slated to begin the weekend after the expansion is released: Saturday, June 13 at 7 PM BST. This can (and probably will) change before then, if we are able to play on an earlier date or not enough people can make it.

A list of recommended nations that have not been selected yet:
Revamped in the Emperor DLC, Switzerland is now much more focused on being a mercenary powerhouse that offers its services to the highest bidder. It now has a unique mission tree that revolves around establishing itself in southern Germany and ensuring its survival.
18px-Bavaria.png
Bavaria (Munich) - Often overshadowed by its Austrian neighbors, Bavaria has been split up into three nations that must be united into the kingdom of Bavaria. Completing this task now makes you much more powerful than the previous Bavaria, however.
20px-The_Mamluks.png
Mamluks - Starting as the most developed nation in the region, the Mamluks typically fall short to the Ottomans, but can still become a great power in Africa by playing smart and expanding quickly.
20px-Tunis.png
Tunis - Tunis is a Berber nation with the ability to conduct piracy on the Catholic nations in Europe, with a potential to become a strong player in Africa.

Other nations I was too lazy to find the flags for:
Lubeck
Hannover
Savoy
The Palatinate
Morocco
Hungary
One of the nations that can form Franconia next update

A list of recommended nations that have not been selected yet:
6i9xXok.png
Castile - Perhaps the best colonizer in the game, you can easily become extremely powerful by establishing a colonial empire in the New World.
20px-Poland.png
Poland - A nation with plenty of opportunities to snowball, Poland becomes a huge military power late-game after forming the Commonwealth.
20px-The_Mamluks.png
Mamluks - Starting as the most developed nation in Europe, the Mamluks typically fall short to the Ottomans, but can still become a great power in Africa by playing smart and expanding quickly.
20px-Burgundy.png
Burgundy - A nation with a reworked mission tree and new events surrounding it, Burgundy can now control its own destiny more than ever- with the potential to easily form the Netherlands and create a global trade empire.
20px-Denmark.png
Denmark - Despite its small size, Denmark can punch far above its weight thanks to its subjects in the Kalmar Union' with the ability to expand overseas or in Europe.
20px-Sweden.png
Sweden - If independent, Sweden can create one of the most powerful militaries in the game thanks to its national ideas.
20px-Brandenburg.png
Brandenburg - The ability to form Prussia and become a major player in the Holy Roman Empire makes Brandenburg a great choice for European domination.
20px-Tunis.png
Tunis - Tunis is a Berber nation with the ability to conduct piracy on the Catholic nations in Europe, with a potential to become a strong player in Africa.
20px-Milan.png
Milan - Milan has the best position at the beginning of the game to unify and form Italy, giving them great national ideas and a strong position in Central Europe.

Other nations I was too lazy to find the flags for:
Savoy
Morocco
Golden Horde
The Palatinate
Hesse
Hungary
