HL2RP [Unofficial] Map Suggestions Thread

Heyo. Since we're probably near the time to wrap up Ashenvale, I thought I might make a thread dedicated to map suggestions for possible future consideration (either linking/discussing ones we probably haven't heard about or showcasing new ones in the works). First off, I'll post my findings here.

A more Optimized and Superior alternative to RP Ineu Pass. This map is hella' accurate Episode 2's outland maps, containing a brand new zone and an complex underground bunker for everyone to explore. The Combine and hold the Outlands, whilst the Rebels can hold the Countryside. Both Riverbed and Bunker zones can be treated as contested area for anyone to sieze and control. Pretty awesome map.

Pretty decent snow map. It has several towns and even a bunker. I think everyone is pretty familiar with the map's layout at this point. The map will definitely be refreshing spin after going through several wasteland/desert maps.

I'll continue to try and find possible good candidates. In the meantime, don't hesitate to suggest your favorites!

It would be nice to see Boreas in play, as a rebel-held bunker with the Combine forces slowly encroaching.

Boreas is such a performance hog though, even in SP sandbox it tanks my frames fairly hard.

I would look into a more CQC heavy map that makes ambiental sense in this situation, that also because the engine simply does not like open spaces and I want to see more use of SMGs in their natural habitat, plus adding some shotguns in the way.

People who leave VMFs in the open deserve a lot of good stuff.
Or, at least better than crappy copies of their own creations.

i think Whiteforest Countryside has you covered. The map has very short view distance, and there’s a lot of sections (like the bunker) that encourages close quarters combat.

We can probably edit the map’s released source files to make it winter themed while we’re at it, to appease both the FPS fanatics and snow enjoyers.

Borea was kinda the last big event last iteration so if we do use the map it'll probably be awhile and while I do want us to go to something like White Forest that also probably won't be for awhile. But who knows.

I really don't wanna see any white forest because it reminds me of old outlands servers. Boreas we used not long ago.

union city and stuck down a bunch of vegetation to make it look like the last of us

we could have overgrown urban sprawl warfare it would be epic its dead easy to do

Random idea for a map - Resistance starts off EXTREMELY strong, with combine forces starting off as a really weak expedition, then getting stronger as they receive more and more backup from other cities for a 'major push' or something.

by strong i mean, heavy defence fortifications, turrets, etc really. Less 'manuverable' and more 'emplacement-based'

combine being the 'speedy/mauverable' ones for once (dropships once anti-air goes, etc)

This, its also super light on props because 99% of it was just MASSIVE entity grass patches that covered entire streets.

we used this less than a year ago for WW3RP and it still left a sour taste in my mouth lol
