TRUE Black MesaRP

Instead of using the Black mesa source look, the old school low res style would be a interesting change to see.​

A world, about 600 years after the Combine invasion of earth.
What has happened since? Well.

The Combine kept sucking the resources out of earth, studying it's materials and making it into their own useful materials. They did this, up until 2098, when a man by the name of Göran Andersson, a man from Sweden who had been collecting all of Europe's resistance members ang groups, decided to make the very first hit at the Combine. He started, with City 8. It wasn't easy, it took almost an entire week, but he did it. The big Combine built citadel fell, and it fell hard. Most if not all the people the resistance didn't save, were killed. However, the resistance got alot of people with them from City 8, and they then continued. City after city. Their numbers faded, slowly. Year 2119, the young people saved from each of the now 6 cities they had destroyed, had all turned to the ages above 40. Göran himself, was on the brink of death at 82 years, with lung cancer. He died in a bunker, as the resistance settled, and hid. They re-produced, and the fight kept going.

Year 2488, 3 Combine citadel's stand tall. The Combine's Civil Protection forces that remain in the wasteland who managed to escape the destroyed cities, are all dying or struggling to survive. Then, something changes. A green light puts itself across earth's surface, and suddenly, something explodes. A blast... some kind of explosion. The intense green lights fade, and portals open. The Xenian forces, who were presumed dead, had come again. This time with more creatures, more threats. They aimed to destroy EVERYTHING.

What was the remaining human population going to do? They panic'd. Realized, the Combine were retreating. Completely leaving earth. It wasn't an option for them to keep fighting in the massive amount of Xenian forces. Xenians, took over earth.

The humans, proceeded to freeze themselves down one by one, leaving only 1000 humans in each of their bunkers, to be alive and awake.

Year 2640. The remaining humans in then bunkers have woken up the others. They've been revived, but the harsh conditions of the now Xenian world has struck them down. In only a year, half of the population dies. Remaining humans is estimated to be around 219 000 around the world. Where are we? No idea.

Factions:
Xenians - Now with new creatures. The Antlions and Zombies still exist as the main forces, but new threats have arrived. They are a constant threat, both NPC and player. NPC ones only exist in certain areas, and in big groups.

Humans - The remaining survivors. Most will have special auths for things such as some basic starter weapons etc. Will be able to get better gear by loot spawns. All loot spawns are put out based on area. So, if someone is so crazy as to go right into a cave where there are antlion NPC spawners, they could find a pistol and perhaps a fragmentation grenade.

Vortigaunts - Vortigaunts remain active, but rare. Most were killed in the events as they were already rare before it.

Unknown - An unknown alien species that has come down to earth, in a very small ship rumoured to have been spotted in multiple countries, moving at very fast speeds. Most probably highly intelligent.

Civil Protection remnants - Any remaining Civil Protection. Most of them were killed as the Combine left, some lived on and their equipment was passed along the decades and their sons and daughters were trained to be like them. The Civil Protection community is small and rare.

Wild Synths - As the Combine pulled away, they could not take all the remaining synths with them, so they left them just about everywhere. These Synths can now be used by the humans, or they may kill them. Their AI resorted to the "Survival and adaption" AI program, which makes them do whatever it takes to survive, wether that be join someone who seems friendly or kill everything in their sights.

The Unknown, as it said, we won't know until we choose a lore for them. They'll be a really secret and quite hidden species with superior technology, such as advanced laser weapons etc. They will be in small numbers though, and mostly hiding as they don't want to die. Their mission is to log everything that happens in the milky way galaxy, which is why they noticed the NEW portals from Xen to earth.

I mean, most things are already in the HL2RP gamemode. The only thing we really need is a new map, an overgrown forest kind of one, with a bunker and some villages etc etc. A very non-civilized location with some caves etc.

And, some new factions. The Unknown, and 3-4 new Xenian creature threats.

why isnt the planet just destroyed it has nothing valuable left
