Good watch, nice to actually hear some of their thought processes on how they tackled locomotion, as well as some of the subtle things they put in, although does reinforce how much time they put into teleportation compared to continuous.

Yeah, I found myself teleporting most of the time during combat sections.
Mostly because Alyx will calmly stroll through the middle of a firefight with no sense of urgency.

Does make me wonder if I used teleporting more out of necessity, rather than it being an option I found myself more comfortable using.

no sprinting made locomotion a bother to use. at first i figured it'd be similar to hl2 where sprinting isn't an option up until a certain point, much to my disappointment. sure, there are console commands to improve locomotion speed, but i feel like that should've been in the options from the get go.

i still chose to use locomotion throughout, but it did make combat a bitch at times, especially when it came to the latter points of the game.

admittedly find it odd that they added barnacle pulling from community request, but sprinting/ jogging was something they missed for release.
Although I understand that it's more to ease people into VR motion, and I jumped into HLA after being an acrobatics master in boneworks, so I had a lead stomach by that point.

whenever i came across a long corridor, i'd sigh and just use teleportation since locomotion is soooo goddamn slow
