Mugging will not be banned, no.

A player will not be able to force you to withdraw cash from the ATM, only rob you for items and cash on your character at the time.

with or without caps are you thinkin

im not sure on it personally. for someone just starting out, a mugging could be one of your main driving factors for your first conflict. as long as banking is easily accessible from the get-go, it shouldn't be a problem

some of my best memories of gtarp servers were when I got mugged, or decided to mug someone and the resulting conflict that followed over it
Maybe, or maybe it happens so many times that you just become tired of trying and give up, ala me today.

Can there be some OOC safe zones at least? Out of the 8 times I was mugged:
- 4 were at a repair place
- 2 were at a hardware store
- 1 was at a car dealership
- 1 was at a car garage

These are kinda places that you can't avoid, and so it felt as though people were purposely waiting there for someone to turn up in order to mug them, and in others it was just happenstance, but again, all of them fucking sucked bar one where I was kidnapped and forced to fight another hostage for my freedom, but that was literally the only time any of them did anything more than steal my shit.

Additionally, any rules on vigilantism? I was almost considering turning my character on that community into a fucking vigilante who sits in bushes outside of repair/garage/etc, waiting for muggers to try something before fucking murdering them for it, tbh.

I'm just speculating, but there probably won't be a rule about vigilantism, but there will probably be a rule about third-party intervention. Like if Group A is in a gunfight with the LSPD, Group B cannot intervene for either side. But this rule wouldn't come into play in a scenario where like some group is watching over sanitation workers and intervening in an attempted robbery.

OOC 100% safe zones will prolly be a little sketchy and might be nothing more than "no initiating/sheltering/baiting/kidnapping at these locations", cause like, if someone starts threatening me at T1 apartments, an OOC safe-zone rule should not stop me from responding accordingly. WIth how police raids are, people should also be able to fight off a raid if they needed to, which may be in zones that you would probably consider a safe-zone. Attacking people at a hospital for example might amount to more of a terrorism charge than a rule infraction.

I would say though that there should be a prohibition against mugging people stuck in an NPC menu, this is actively prohibited on NP since you're incapable of reacting.

I'm fine with that, but if we're allowing mugging, I'm just going to shoot first. Hell, if I see someone else with a gun out I might shoot for that alone.

I'm fine with the former but it'd be nice if it included muggings because getting mugged while sat waiting for your van to be repaired is honestly just kind of shit.

No matter where you go In Los Santos or Blain County. You will be mugged.
Guess I won't hear you/will have difficulty playing/will accidentally run you over with my car =/

TBH this reads like "I'm just going to RDM because I'm angy", If I had my gun on my back and you shot me for that alone I'd have a ban request up in 30 seconds. Likewise, if I had a gun on you and I'm robbin' you and you suddenly whipped a gun out there'd be a problem there too.

But there are things that you could do in character to avoid being robbed. Whenever I've gotten robbed on NP, I was alone every time. What did I do? Started staying in groups, did the buddy system. I go into the store? Someone waits outside. I started carrying a class 2 weapon around, which is a form of power projection. People are more inclined to rob people who come across as defenseless. No one gets robbed at Benny's because there's so many people coming in and out of there, going back to that staying in groups thing.

ngl dont get the whole "fearRP stops you pulling out a gun and shooting your mugger"

I've seen like 100+ videos of people getting mugged and just quickdrawing a pistol and gunning down their attacker, its like the most common response in the US if you're armed

The main driving factor for people to do anything when they're brand new is protection from muggings

Find friends, figure out if someone seems sketchy, lock your car doors, keep a gun on you. Eventually you'll build reputation and won't get mugged, or don't and become everyone's piggy bank

If you have a gun pointed at your, it's a failure to value your life if you try to pull a gun instead of complying. If the gun is already in-hand though that's a different story.
