Dear Traveler...

You have come all this way from the fringes of our wonderful Nebulous servers and Forums...But in my time on the server, I am a little shocked to find, there is no forum Film/TV thread on....ANIME!?
Wait wait, why am I doing this?

1: I don't watch the Walking Dead, I don't watch Game of Thrones, I don't watch Stranger Things, and I fast-forward all the commercials.

2: Anime in my view has been more or less neglected in my view, some people have used positions in Civil Protection to make custom scripts of Manga novels and Anime movies and the stuff for their collection and benefit of having, but has been more or less unseen on the Forums. As for I? Well, I just watch Anime and listen to Japanese Rock.
Now, I do hope there are people on Nebulous with similar thoughts as I. In short, if you have a list of shows you watched or want to name any favorites for Anime series or movies you might've seen (Manga could count too if that's allowed) As for what I prefer? My list of Anime is short but sweet, really.

-Attack on Titan
-Fullmetal Alchemist (Pick either one of the series, I've watched both)
-Black Butler (First two seasons)
-Cowboy Bebop (Partially)
-Code Geass (Both Seasons, Second Favorite)
-Ouran Highschool Host Club
-Welcome to the NHK!
-Sword Art Online (Both Seasons, my favorite show)
-Death Note

If you got a show you like or manga, list them below, I'd love to hear from people into the same stuff as I.

your taste has yet to ascend to a higher level

I've watched a mixture of shows, my favourite ones would have to be Evangelion, Cowboy Bebop, FMA: Brotherhood, the Monogatari series and many films done by Makoto Shinkai (5 Centimetres Per Second, Garden of Words and Your Name). On the down-low, I do enjoy a bit of slice-of-life such as New Game and Hibike! Euphonium.

Currently, I'm watching Mahoutsukai no Yome which is pretty sweet, though nothing else has particularly interested me this season, other than Made in Abyss which is from last season.

I don't really read manga as I tend to stop reading them after like a day; however, one I have finished is Boku wa Mari no Naka which was okay, I guess -- it was a bit too psycho-analytical and there's a twist you see coming a mile away, however it had some interesting moments.

If you got a show you like or manga, list them below, I'd love to hear from people into the same stuff as I.

Top 3 for me are right now

- Neon Genesis Evangelion + Evangelion Rebuild Movies (Try to understand it and end up giving up and looking for guides on YouTube)
- Shigatsu wa Kimi no Uso (Also known as Your Lie in April - Try and watch it, it's great).
- Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo (The Pet Girl of Sakurasou - Really good job, there's a lot of work put in it and it's fun to watch)

As for the ones I don't have on my top, there's some I specially liked

- Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Kome wa Machigatteiru (the protagonist is just great)
- Sword Art Online (entertaining, even if hated) [Aincrad > Phantom Bullet > Ordinal Scale > Mother's Rosario > Fairy Dance > Early and Late]
- Durarara! (Both seasons)
- Monogatari (All of them)
- Full Metal Alchemist: Brotherhood
- Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e
- Saenai Heroine no Sodatekata
- Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai (Anohana)
- Nichijou
- Boku no Hero Academia

Mangas as well, I'm starting Akame ga Kill now, specially liked Horimiya, Boku Dake ga Inai Machi and Koe no Katachi. I'm also reading the light novel of Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Kome wa Machigatteiru.

5 Centimetres Per Second, Garden of Words and Your Name

Those are really nice, I liked them.

Mahoutsukai no Yome

Somebody recommended this one to me, I'll watch it at some point.

Princess Monoke was the first I saw and Wolf Children the latest. Both are genuinely amazing movies and I'd recommend them if anyone hasn't seen them.

The art alone is great.

I second that, I watched Princess Mononoke on Blu-Ray and it was excellent.

berserk 1997 is absolutely fucking godlike - I liked it so much I caught up to the manga in just about 2 months, and it's fucking long. I'd say my top three from most favorite to just regular favorite would be definitely berserk 1997, paranoia agent, and neon genesis evangelion. I don't really like any new anime, most things post 2004ish just don't really hook me.

As @Jaggles said, both Sakurasou no Pet na Kanojo and Durarara are good - it seems like you're beginning to start your first actual dip into anime, so I'd say take it slow when people recommend things but remember to be more open to suggestions, it avoids getting caught in a cycle.

If you're actively looking for something to watch right now, you really should watch Durarara. It's an excellent, no-bullshit, no filler show that manages to nail everything it does, and have a cohesive story - definitely worth checking out.

the first thing you should do is start a MyAnimeList account to keep track of both manga and anime, it's a massive help to remember recommendations and form a backlog.

personally, I'd recommend The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, especially because all the light novels are currently translated - and ensure you watch it in broadcast order, it makes it much better. (( https://i.imgur.com/CMaAuPB.png ))

https://www.reddit.com/r/anime/wiki/watch_order this'll help you where needed, might edit this post later too

The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya

This along with Suzumiya Haruhi no Soushitsu (The Disappearance of Haruhi Suzumiya) is fucking gold.

Also I watched all the Endless Eight. Without any exceptions. Without skipping a single minute.
When I finished watching them, having something different for a change after them fet great, so it's actually recommendable if you're a hardcore boi.

haruhi wasn't as popular until the anime series dropped afaik?

It's definitely lesser-mentioned by now, but it is definitely one of the absolute greats when it comes to mentions of anime - the fandom's large, etc. all that shit, it had and still has a huge following and a huge impact on japan in general

go watch it tho and use broadcast order, it's gr8

hey guess what

fuck everything just watch hunter x hunter 2011

also Gurren lagann

Ok, since this happened again, I will make it clear. I DO NOT TOLERATE MEMES ON THIS THREAD. I am referring to those who post memes on this thread basically centered on an anti-anime mood "Weaboo" or "NO ANIME" sort of attitudes. If there was a "Serious" Tag, I'd put it on when I posted the thread originally.

Seriously, I will report those who basically shits on Anime in here, this is for people to come share what they like and talk about it, not be called insults and the like. So please, respect people in here and Anime in here. If you want to act shitty, that's what the Memes thread is for, thanks.

Eh, not really necro posting.

Alot of the shows already mentioned I've seen, so I'm not going to list them and give my 2 cents to...

But a certain show that has been on my mind for the past few weeks/months is one by the name of "Girls' Last Tour". I find it hard to believe that few people know about it airing, when It's a show that I eagerly await for each week. The show itself can be classec the same genre of shows that "Make you feel good about yourself" like 'Is the order a rabbit' or 'K-On' for example. But the setting and tone and themes of the show brings an underlying presences, a show about two girls knowing little to nothing about the world they live in, exploring new and deep philosophical questions when presented to something new all while attempting to survive each day from harsh colds and starvation on their small kettenkrad. Something about this show has a spark of life underlying, and the sceneries and the soundtrack, like artwork. Somehow this makes me feel good, like the other mentioned shows. But why, this captovates me ... and makes me truely appreciate such a show that deserves recognition.
