Can anyone recommend a good show for me. Ive been trying to get into it but haven't really found anything majorly groundbreaking. I've seen death note, girls und panzer and the princess and the pilot. I really enjoyed the latter 2. I'm sort of looking for something historical and kind of grounded in reality, nothing too eccentric.

Any suggestions?

I don't really know much about that genre, but there's two anime that I could recommend, both which are easy to watch.
Shokugeki no Soma (Food Wars! 3 seasons, first season is 24 episodes, last two are 12 episodes). I love it so much that I've got Soma as my profile pic :P

New highschool 1st years join the team and they work their way up to the best again.
It gets you nervous and has a beautiful story line.
