Why did FTRP fail?

FrundTech 2018, ran by Chester.

My biggest gripes with the server were the following:

• Overuse of mutant hordes. For a period of about a week, almost every large-scale event was just /it mutant horde attacks the survivor camp.
  • Anyone who didn't literally get inside and just hide, had mutants spammed at them until they died.
  • When it wasn't mutants, it was admin-played event chars spawning themselves fully automatic weapons with several mags, or just infinite ammo, and cornercamping/teleporting between rooftops.

• OOC witchhunting over 'hoarding'. I had 5 guns, one of which I sold leaving me at four. These were all semi-automatic guns, with 3 of them using rare ammunition.
  • This was during the amunition famine a month into the server, so I held onto these guns because I had about 100 rounds spread across 4 different weapons. When I ran out on one, I stashed it and grabbed another, and so on and so on.
  • At this point, almost every player had either a primary weapon or a sidearm. We also actively lived in a capitalistic camp run by @rapidjuice's PMG.
  • For some reason, staff and players actively harassed me in OOC and on the forums, acting as though I was ruining the server by not giving away all my guns for free.

• Mutants were handled atrociously. I'm sorry Rapid, but I honestly feel you simply didn't have the time available to you in order to do what needed to be done.
  • You have a job which, if I recall correctly, is full time and doesn't let you choose your schedule. A mutant lead needs to be able to remain semi-constantly in contact.
  • Mutants waiting days and weeks for answers is a problem that plagued LemonPunch as well(although nebulous' did far better in that regard.)
  • On top of that, you actively granted mutants absurdly overpowered abilities, and unfair circumstances. You gave someone who's nigh bulletproof, and was literally immortal due to regeneration, a quirk where they went berserk and literally permakilled anyone who attacks them or witnessesd it based on your personal discretion. Even if it was just a punch over an argument. That's not okay.

• Staff Accountability,was rather rare. Any time there was criticism over the handling of an event, PK, or other situation, players were threatened with bans or told to stop whining.

• Power trips were relatively common amongst some staff members.
  • Let me be clear on this. Someone, without my asking them to, told me about someone else's mutant power after a PK they disagreed with.
  • When I tried to talk to the mutant lead and confirm some PK rules, I was threatened with having my mutant removed for 'conspiring' with someone, and had to pretend I didn't know what they were talking about.
  • Ironically the mutant lead literally told me it was a mutant power (outing someone as a mutant), and that it was a quirk they assigned that led to berserk rages. Which is more than the other person told me. I had to straight up play retard and pretend I knew nothing, while the person in charge of my character sat there and called me pathetic for asking about PK rules.

Still find myself laughing when I remember that a mutant lead actively threatened to dewhitelist me if someone else metagamed to me without my input.
But the same guy couldn't take, make, or use the time of day to actually respond to the mutants whom he'd promised tier up information. p sure @Fatality waited for eons only to get screwed.

In short, I contacted him to ask about @TheSandiestcomet's PK, because I found it odd that someone was PK'd over literally punching a man once during an argument where said man repeatedly insulted someone and their girlfriend.

He immediately accused me of 'conspiring' with sandie about mutant info, and repeatedly threatened to remove me from mutant status for metagaming. (Sandie told me without my asking).

Funny thing is, I never mentioned anything about mutants, I just asked "So I heard Sandie got PK'd for punching warwick's char. Is this legit, can we be PK'd over a minor physical altercation?" Even funnier is that most everyone knew his char was a mutant. It wasn't a secret.

RJ then proceeded to tell me in detail that ww's char was a mutant, and had a quirk which caused PK's based on RJ's own discretion.

I had to actively pretend I was straight up mentally retarded and didn't know anything or understand what he was saying. He also tried to tell me I wasn't allowed to talk to sandie about his PK.

The reason that the MilRems and LCB both fucked over the ALF is because a member of the ALF went apeshit and tried to shoot the military, why you are surprised that you got screwed over in the end I have no idea.
