Need to improve on your lighting chief.
I can barely see the characters without having to look really close to the screen, and from where the lens flare is the light should be emitting from it as a focal point in the same aspect as the sun. The blue mountains in the background don't really match the scene, either, as the fire in the background should give an orange haze to the sky that overwhelms the mountains.

Also where are the shadows at?

poster_soft caused crashes and I just gave up, tried to improve a lighting a bit while discussing this with some buddies, said the lighting is pretty fine. But thank you for the feedback!

Paint.NET is a useful resource for picture editing if you can't use Photoshop.
Free and Low Storage needed to install. Not that bad on the CPU either.

If it's the money issue, then you can easily torrent Photoshop.

The camera is probably what could be improved the most with the lighting, this poster has a lot of empty spaces

Try to position the camera on the ground, zoom in while backing up, re-adjust where it's looking at, and it should give more life to the scene, showing only what we need to see, reducing empty spaces, and creating more tension, as the danger from the soldier / rebel on the far right would feel more imminent. I doubt everyone saw him as it is.

Exactly this, and to add on lighting, I'd suggest placing one just above the camera, a very faint one that is, and then one on the side, maybe even it's source being visible on the sky, to mimic the sun.

Photoshop is not available for me, so. Yeah.

For simple editing, paint.net will do just fine

Very nice colors with a pretty decent idea for the poster,
but probably the best thing here is the composition.

I didn't pick that one because it seemed a bit too blurry (the trees and interior lights), and would seem a bit too amateur.
though I agree, I do like the lighting and the composition, and would have picked it had I been able to get a more crisp photo.

I haven't done anything creative in a while so the lighting and all is a bit of a mess.
This scene is made with props and all, not exactly happy with it but I think it gets the job done.

So here is the scene fully, a sky dome and a bit of props scaled out to make terrain around. Most- actually all models except the player models are from a alternate source.

I enjoy making these scenes but it forces me to stick to a camera angle most times. Here is a list of everything used.

I took it to photoshop to give it a old film kind of effect, making it saturated with curves and all.

And thus you get the final product. It is not my best but I am back to making for fun, that's pretty much all that matters to me. My next project will involve custom map making, if you have any suggestions or comments let me know!
