for the gun enthusiasts, this is some footage I took a while back. Should give a rough idea of the types of weaponry available.

Do note that you might see some glitched weapons, missing sounds, missing textures etc since it was still in the process of being fully fleshed out back then. Video doesn't contain all weapons and equipment, just a selection.

if i ever get the pleasures of writing up a post with all the details of the weapons available to us i will fucking kill a random dog and eat it live on facebook

Since we are in the middle of a World War I guess most trading will be done through barter? Will we actually see a currency?

This is more of a world-building question;

I'm assuming that the anti-communist fervor of the 50s and 60s just never stopped? Is the world just divided into communist and not communist with the CIA and the KGB in every nook and cranny they can get their hands into?

I'm sure there will be some sort of Soviet economy. I doubt they would've conquered most of Europe just to abolish currency despite having massive amounts of factory/labourers.

That's actually an interesting concept we toyed around with, right now as it stands the Soviets have their typical 'requisition' currency in much smaller amounts than previously, which is exclusively spent on equipment and food/water and is practically useless for anyone outside the army. I added a variety of german mark currency banknotes, coins etc that can be inserted into circulation as actual currency items that take up inventory space.

It can go either way, with people using it as valid payment method, or it boiling down to a bartering system. It's something that we still need to put more thought in to in order to come up with a flawlessly working system

I think you're missing the following:
  • MI6
  • ASIO
  • NSS
  • CSIS
  • MSS
  • DGI
  • DIA
  • DRM
  • SAR
  • Mossad
  • JGSDF
  • NIS
Meant more the US vs the USSR based off the 50s and 60s, but there's no doubt there'd be a lot of players in the field.

Yes, imagine the anti-Communist fervor of the 50s and 60s, and now imagine that the power balance begins to tilt towards the Soviets. It would become even more so undeniable that the Soviets are a threat to liberty and the Western style of living, thus it would make a lot of sense or Western characters to be hyper-zealous against Communism. I could imagine American academia, Hollywood, and other elements within the culture being scrutinized in form of McCarthyism.

Of course there will be certain sympathizers, but for the most part, supporting Communism within America would likely end up with your phones being tapped, and put on some sort of list and blackballed from society. Then there will always be the moderates who believe in Capitalism and don't like Communism, but who doesn't believe that every Communist is a bad person, and just misguided and fighting for the other side.

Love to see the US shift to a very authoritarian balance of power by a president using battling communism as his excuse. Members of congress support the executive branch undoubtedly for fear of being labelled communist under a McCarran Internal Security Act that would actually pass. USA becomes much more aggressive in its actions, invasive of its citizen's privacy and rights, and all whilst the intelligence services get a blank check.

Whoever gets to be the CIA is going to have a very fun time.

The ideal way I'd like to see the CIA being split between two groups; directors, and field agents.

CIA directors give directives to CIA field agents, whether they are to infiltrate, sabotage, or create a connection between themselves and a partisan group. The partisan group pulls off anti-Soviet stunts in order to gain further support from the CIA. CIA agents are the middle men between the CIA directors, who approve and authorize munitions/weapon/explosive support along with food and medical supplies. CIA also can tell their agent to try and get the partisans to pull off something in perhaps and event on the spare server, or what have you.

CIA has authority to make and cut ties with partisan groups as see fit, looking to their actions and being able to decide to overlook certain indiscretions in values/behavior, or take action by cutting ties, or even seeking to remove the current head of the partisan group, which would lead the CIA to perhaps need to cut loose ends. If that be the case, you could see them siding with one partisan group instead.

In a sense, the CIA would become somewhat of the antagonists in the server by providing the means of which resistance/partisan groups may rise up, outside of their own efforts to craft/steal their equipment. Of course, they wouldn't be limited to micromanaging other groups, but themselves trying to poison certain Soviet leadership in both political and military realms.

you realize the CIA aren't the only ones involved in espionage on the NATO side, right?

if anything all of NATO [ASIS, MI6, CSIS, SAR, DGI- with Mossad and JGSDF probably represented somewhere] will be playing the long con with backing insurgents/killing rival parisans (besides remnants on the ground/with ties to their own groups)

hell, maybe the MSS might show up in the future and decide Deng Xiaoping doesn't like the direction the Soviets are taking the area in

FBI work domestic only on most cases, so unless there's any events set in the U.S, you're out of luck.

FBI does get involved outside the U.S. on occassion often in cases that revolve around American treatment and lives. A real IRL example being an FBI-JSOC operation to rescue American POW's.

In my mind, I was thinking of it being done on a character by character basis. In a lot of situations there’s not a lot of dialogue between different elements in the field, so if you had two people who were or were employed by the CIA, chances are they’d have no idea about the other persons existence.

It would also be cool to work alongside other intelligence groups and see their tactics at work, because the CIA’s main strategy of winning over a region with greenbacks and surplus weapons might not be applicable to this timeline, whilst the same might not be true for MI6 for instance (I don’t have a ton of knowledge on how they conduct espionage etc.)

It would also be worth noting it’s not like those agents in the field would have the backing of the CIA or whatever intelligence group they’re working with. The only thing that would set them apart from a miltitant in the field would be training and the fact they’d have to report to a handler/director once a month.
