I've decided to move the nexus to be completely underwater, this is where the CA office and other high ranked offices will be, training ground for recruits and the prison complex. A smaller CCA foothold will be in the city, mainly accomodating short-time detain centers, cantina for units, barracks probably and so on. Here's a sneak peek on what the general feel will be of the nexus:

I'm thinking about incorporating an industrial section designed for the manufacture of vehicles such as APCs, Gunships and Striders, where the stalkers and the inmates could be sent to labour.

FYI the 'nexus' is actually an underwater complex of buildings built with combine technology to accomodate all the Combine's needs, for this reason I will not place a Citadel in the skybox because its not really needed from a logistic point of view.

I've also taken the time to import inside the map some custom sounds taken from the ambience of Rapture from Bioshock for maximum comfiness

Quick morning update: Mostly finished the small-medium sized industrial factory to be used for work cycles.

Since most servers have a problem with Citizen RP, I've decided to adjust the map accordingly to the needs of Citizen RP. Here's a list of what the map will contain in it's playable first version:

4+ plaza shops
1 hair saloon
1 public pool and sauna ( ART DECO STYLE OFC)
Union-propaganda gaming arcade (inspired by the manhack arcade)
1 primary leisure restaurant/casino with stage in the plaza
*OPTIONAL* I might include a small gymnasium for boxing and matches like these between the citizens, where players can gather and place bets and shit
A small hospital ran by CMU
Industrial factory
CWU HQ with a big scene for political rallies, religious UU-related sermons and/or just general meetings

Some of these listed things have already been incorporated, others will follow.

Update

I changed the layout once again, this time it'll be the final change. I kept most of the buildings, just changed the streets and all as I wanted more alleyways and connections around each part of the map:

Oh, forgot to mention that with the help of a mapper named Tyrex, I've managed to succesfuly use propper which is a dream come true.

With this new layout, there's a significat increase in verticality access, this is a picture from the catwalks connecting two slum blocks together, with a view down o nthe plaza

Here's the sign for "The Concord" restaurant and just to the right lies the entrance (I managed to succesfuly block the restaurant with areaportals, properly optimizing it). THe sign is a quick texture I've managed to pull up in photoshop quickly and put it in game. I might add more later when I start to put signs around the buildings.

Omg I love art deco! I like how you've introduced the theme seamlessly into HL2. I could see this being a city for more privileged citizens (You could maybe have class conflict become an issue in the city like in Rapture). Only think I could suggest is changing the background scenery to a city landscape or something like i17! Either way, amazing job as always!

The skybox will contain enough skycrapers to block most of the view, so it's alright.

There will be plenty of facilites for RP, from a public pool with sauna, to a boxing gymnasium where citizens can come and place bets an enter the arena for sports, and much more planned.

Also, I appreciate your enthusiasm.

Wew, this is really fucking good dude.The large "skyscraper" buildings look a bit too small imo though.
