i requested a refund after nearly an hour and a half
even on ultra the gameplay and the feel
feels like deus ex human revolution but it's in first person
not worth 50 quid

I’ll admit that how the game was graphically butchered despite its development beginning life on the console is a mystery to me. I can only assume that it’s probably due to the fact that a lot of the time and effort was probably invested in content and detail than it was bug-testing and optimisation.

Doesn’t help that the devs likely had investors breathing down their throat to get the game out before Christmas as well.

As I said earlier though, I’m glad the issues are technical; because you can fix bugs after launch. You can’t do the same for content and features.

Honestly I always sort of expected it'd struggle on the original PS4/Xbox One.

Like even on my Xbox One X I'm having some issues, for all its mostly playable.

even if the hardware would mean itd have to have compromises, this is just absolutely garbage optimisation of CDPR's part
plus the fact the game was even heavily advertised and was built with previous gen consoles in mind and is only getting current gen releases on day one because of how much they delayed it so theres absolutely no excuse why the game is in this state on any console

it's not even the first time a company's done something like this either, i remember treyarch releasing bo3 for ps3 and it was genuinely dogshit, zero features, no cosmetics, no shop, nothing, but was still sold at full price

The only thing that I felt more gutted about expectation wise was the lack of character customization, I remember in the 2018 deep dive the CC had more options that defined your character's personality and history but nope Just 3 types of V's

I basically expected a 5e Character sheet with character creation.

could guess with some cut content that occurred the lifepaths might've had alternative routes in the main story like

The game is solid, has its bugs like random floating cigarettes or goofy text overlapping,

But I think its genuinely fun. Though somewhat disappointing with how long they've worked on the game, I was expecting a tad more.

I’m getting real big RDR2 vibes with the whole “you’re slowly dying” general storyline trope. But I actually really like it, like RDR2 it helps you to realize you aren’t really invincible and you WILL die.

Gives you that sense of urgency, not knowing when V’s symptoms will get worse or when Johnny will begin to melt more and more into your brain.

Its even worse then RDR2 ina way cause you had a choice as Arthur to make yourself a better person to be more at peace with yourself when he dies. But here you don’t, you can be as nice as a man as you’d like but Johnny will take you over. The only thing you have is time and time is slowly but surely running out and you’re really feeling it with V
