idk if u mean coding or lore script but either way worth the effort imo
your opinion as somebody who will not be editing/coding the script

im sure the person developing will take note that you believe his effort will have been worth it if he complies with your demands.

i don't mean to be snarky, but that's a lot of work in spite of an already fantastic script.

i don't mean to come across like that, I'm just saying like I think it would be worthwhile to all put some effort and energy into coming up with something fresh instead of relying upon reusing everything, we shouldn't have an attitude of making this with minimal effort if it's to succeed.

i figure it would be making the effort of refocusing to combat rp, rather than occupation rp. its all within the script already to do that, we just need to change the perspective of staff going forward of allowing people do what they actually come to do. the issue i have is that we hardly used the entirety of the script in terms of warfare. we used touches of it here and there, but we never let it go all out, which is what i feel we'd be opening the door to.

Is it worth asking people on Reddit like /r GMServers or something for their opinion and if they would try it? Probably good to ask externally as well if it's useful

Don't forget the constant designer clothing, which was funny at first but literally got sucked up into people actually trying to genuinely say they were wearing it whilst being in character as a soldier on a front-line battlefield.

Also, the toxicity which sprouted from competitiveness infected every stainable part of WW3RP. As the confessions unveiled, even staff were culprits in using their rank and abilities to gain an edge on the other team.

Are branches/branch leads going to be reintroduced with the military faction(s) or will they stick to being specialisations like in Stasiland?

Dunno yet, right now I’m leaning towards specialisations. We don’t have the complex medical systems like we did on clockwork, and thats a good thing imo.

I don’t think the various specs warrant a full sub-faction

any plans to keep the drone?

it was an interesting intel tool but frankly it was quite difficult reliably inform troops as a command element and infuriatingly easy to misuse as a grunt, not to mention I can't think of a reliable counter given it's a 'skybox element' and keeping it outside of events will just lead to the non-NATO side complaining about "where's ours???"

I've always preferred direct player reconnaisance but I suppose any sort of recon branch never goes well

it would be great to use it for events but outside of that you're going to have:
  • people trying to shoot it down when it can't be shot down
  • people on the other side (soviets) complaining about not having one
  • people complaining about usage, when it's used, for what and whom

Definitely. If the other side were allowed access to them it would just get worse and people would demand more tech/drones. It would end up like robot wars. Not worth it in my opinion but seeing them occasionally for events etc may

The drone was cool as fuck, though it was more of an experimental feature for me to test out what I could do with the code. It worked more-or-less because it was exclusively used by trusted individuals for a super small team of players.

I'd keep it around, but we'd probably only use it for specific events such as raids, covert ops, shit like that. I don't see it being used in regular gameplay, unless we re-develop NJSOC features that don't involve using it to get an advantage in combat.

people saying the LP lore sucked but both turkey and india got wiped off the map with nukes so arguably it is the best lore we had
you know, turkey nuclear plant incident arc was one of the most fun and best arcs ww3rp had purely because it was in a nuclear environment.
