would just be randoms with muskets/bolt action rifles shooting each other

korea's a better opportunity because most people barely know the war at all, it has assets that we already have (WWII weapons, vehicles, etc were all used by the UN forces and the Koreans on both sides) and there's little dev that needs to be done beyond finding a good map.

We already compiled a pack with some custom variants for Stasiland, which would be reused. Includes the Hind-D, Mi-8, Blackhawk, AH-6 Littlebird, Huey, Su-25, Su-35(?), F-18, a civilian cessna and I probably forgot one

Futuristic setting sounds interesting, but I have a distinct feeling that adding any hi-tech gadgets to change the point-and-click formula of firefights would be very much complained about. Won't matter if you have to be smart about it using your fancy equipment: if a shootout isn't dictated by good aiming skills a good internet connection, it's no good because raisins.

I don’t really like the idea of a high tech setting. I sorta just feel like it takes away from the personal character experience for a “wowie zowie lookit me ma I’m climbing a fucking wall like a cockroach” and it’s just not really relatable

I liked the Cold War type beat cause it was something a lot of people could understand and get behind relatively fast and easily, as most of us no matter what country have learned about the Cold War and a lot others have just thought what it would’ve been like if shit did go hot. And also because others here may have grown up during those final few years of it.

I just find the Cold War setting way too interesting to chuck it out the window for a more futuristic one. WW2 would likely just be memed on, same with Vietnam. Cold War just has that versatility to it if you ask me
