rockstar is a horrible company to make videogames nowadays, gta v has been a prime example of how much they're willing to squeeze money out of their fans for content

I'm sure they'll find a way to bring it in here
Red Dead Redemption 2 was an incredibly good game tho.

They're just not going to release a new game every year, instead, they're producing high quality shit with they know will be ground breaking

Or alternatively, they're milking their big franchises with online modes that can outlive and drown the original game in a toxic environment.

GTA 5 Online's mode is barely a worthwhile gamemode to play, you have to grind so much that it's pretty much like getting an actual job and shit, it fucking sucks ass.

Haven't played RDR2 though, I have very little interest in the genre

A prime example of their greed is how NONE of the online vehicles are available in singleplayer. This is because Rockstar know that the only thing keeping these vehicles 'interesting' is the ridiculous grind to get them, once you've got everything- it feels pointless.

Genuine question, were you old enough to play GTA 3 or Vice City when they came out?
I certainly wasn't
While I still do judge some of the looks, it is in the end, their own vision of these games
if they decide it was meant to be cartoony, then hell let em do their thing

Well, to be fair I do think a lot of this is Take two interactive greed, let us not forget they literally put a basketball game into a Casino game.

My guess is that that because of this Rockstar has to give milking the cow dry, since clearly they know how to make good games (RDR 2)

unconfirmed but we'll see
vadim's a trustable source, he does a lot of vids documenting GTA's history and blunders, a few of his most recent including how War Drum Studios, now Groove Steeet Studios, butchered the mobile, PS3 and 360 ports which Definitive Edition is based off

thing that bothers me most is probably how clean SA looks
that orange tint in the air that made the whole game look like a hot early 2000's summer is no longer with us

also i feel like it sacrificed a lot of tasteful, blocky textures and graphics for rounder - airbrushed looking ones. I don't think some of these things look better; just very matte colored, this overtly plastic shine without reflections. the latter problem seems to persist in all of the 3 remakes.

People are blaming Rockstar, yeah they're bad, but the Definitive Edition wasn't even done by Rockstar, it was outsourced to a Mobile Game Developer to spruce up. Arguably a worse move which reflects Rockstar badly.
