Did you know when Genghis Khan died he ordered the people who buried him to be killed, then the people who killed the buriers to be killed afterwards, and a river was diverted over his resting place so his body wouldn't be found

that time when the french lost battles because the British hid behind a hill

that time the British lost 60,000 men on the first day of the somme

that time Australia btfod Erwin Rommel and his 35,000 troops

reports of Germans getting ganked by gurkhas in North Africa with kukris

The battle of long tan was pretty crazy too

world wars we're pretty cool but they're not the best

time for some cool malaysian ww2 stuff

This is a Malaysian/Singapore animation which showcases Battle of Bukit Chandu/Opium Hill (Part of Battle of Pasir Panjang), perhaps the fiercest battle put by a Malay Regiment platoon of 41 soldiers led by Malaysian/Singaporean national hero, Lieutenant Adnan against thousands of Imperial Japanese soldiers advancing on them. They engaged the Japanese troops for 2 days along with British Indian troops led by British officers in which in the final defense, 42 of them put up a last stand to stop thousands of Japanese troops from advancing to the British strategic locations. The Japanese troops initially tried to disguise themselves as British Punjabi/Indian troops but Lieutenant Adnan saw through their tricks because of their wrong formations.

Our secondary schools used to do a literature study of Lieutenant Adnan's biography in our Malay language studies but that has been changed to some stupid fucking romance drama fictional novel which I had to do instead.

they were already barely able to project what power they had from mainland argentina to the islands as it was, not taking into account the fact that they didnt have viable military and naval assets, economy or means of production to do anymore than they already had

>when the Argentinian army vastly outnumbered the British forces sent and had better and heavier weapons

hurr durr they bad lol

The Argentinians only ever left a small conscript force on the island was because the war was never meant to happen and only did because Maggie chimped out and wanted to prove she could bully third world nations too

yes they did its still a reason they lost the war regardless, had they actually prepared for war by building fortifications/airfields and their presence was for more than negotiation means we wouldn't of been able to attack and defeat them, but what do you expect when its a battle being fought on an island 7,800 miles away from mainland Britain compared to 1,100 miles from buenos aires.

put the british and argentinian military face to face on an even playing field where they can both utilise their air force, navy and army and the winner will without a doubt be britain. argentina simply didnt have the means of production or economy to support a full on war and had trouble projecting what military power they had beyond their mainland
