>Be me
>Get out a prowler
>Have unknown people board the prowler
>Be safe in the cockpit and fly to a planet
>Hear weapons clicking behind you, them trying to kill you
>Threaten them to get out or they'll die
>They don't get out
>Inititiate self-destruct
>Wait ten seconds
>Get out of cockpit getting shot in the face
>See the message "Channel Prowler disbanded"
>Know that the self-destruct was succesfull
>Hunt the resulting bounty down
>Kill them again

Revenge is sweet
The revenge is even better as they are send to prison after we killed them the second time.

I found a control scheme that will probably work better than the abomination I created.

Now I have to learn it.

Star citizen will be a great game, I'm glad people are already enjoying them, it feels like it could be a great avenue for RP and countless hours of fun, whenever it comes out.

I might try a bit of the early access of it but it still feels like its lacking some content or am I wrong?

It heavily depends, if you mean general game content as other MMOs would have then yeah, it lacks mostly in the combat/transport area but they're adding cargo decks to add more depth to the transport of goods and what-not.

If you mean content that can be made? it definitely does not lack. This game really relies on the community to create content for each other, whilst the game supports it by adding functions.

I've joined an organisation called Warf-ish which is primarly industrial but has a defense sector aswell. They have basically every ship and will provide for you to help on missions and pay you for your time. They create 'Operations' / missions sometimes in which people come together to do things.

I got introduced to it as a capital ship pilot (890 jump) whilst a ground team retrieved a package from another org in battle. I've since joined the defense sector as a pilot (although it doesn't restrict you from anything) and assist on other missions or ops. Recently we had a hammerhead mission with in-game mission.

TL:DR Yes, game content can lack. Player-made content makes up for it and can make it 20x more fun. Join an org such as mine (Warf-ish) which is friendly towards new/veteran players and just generally makes everything a lot more fun.

As for starter packages, I suggest a Avenger Titan starter pack if you can afford it (Somewhere around 70 bucks) or if you want to go the cheapest take the aurora.

I can give a more in-depth suggestion if you want but what I mentioned works the best as a general rule of thumb.

Also a big factor which makes the game a lot more worth it i.m.o. is the added bonus that recently ship and item persistence came into the game meaning you'll keep ships and items you bought in-game unless there is an intentional wipe.

i backed star citizen a while ago

here's what happened:
-i tried to warp from a space station to a spaceport on the planet it was orbiting. instead of flying around the planet like it's supposed to, it clipped into the planet and blew up. after how many years in development?
-i got on average 4FPS. when i asked how to optimize my game, i got told to buy an SSD exclusively for the game, and called a faggot.
-main menu takes literally half an hour to load. not the game, no, the main menu

In general, I haven't had these issues as much as others would proclaim.

Never had this happen for me.

Good question, If you could tell me how long a while ago is I could tell you and tell you if the game improved or not since then.

I've always had an SSD and as such never had these issues myself. The faggot thing is more or less pointing at a piece of trash in a pile of gold. I find more saints on Star Citizen than whatever the opposite of it would be.

One of the few things which most people don't appreciate on Star Citizen (Or the reddit) is people coming in on a normal thread such as a ship discussion and then trying to turn it into an argument of why the game is really bad and no one should buy it. Essentially those people that go "I dont like X thing so you may not enjoy it." - Why am I bringing this up? It's relevant in two ways: Either you phrased the question as a big complaint or something annoying which was taken the wrong way OR the individual you encountered is one of these trash people who take every opportunity to piss on a game that's becoming better and better.

-main menu takes literally half an hour to load. not the game, no, the main menu
one of the things that is solved with an SSD. I am not a techie myself so idk why it works the way it works but I got my PC with an 1 terrabyte SSD so never had issues.

Overall, This is either farther in the past than is implied which means most of these issues are basically solved or it all leads into a statement many people often forget. "It is still in Alpha". The game isn't marketed as something that is finished and a lot of people can hype it up more than it is worth. However with the term "It is still in Alpha" aren't only negatives, it's a positive as well since it indicates that it is being worked on and the players can see the game become better with every patch.

I've had it happen three times.

I think maybe February?

No, I don't have an SSD. My issue is people saying I need to get one just for the game as if I'm going to be completely willing to just buy additional hardware for my already high-specs system just so their badly-optimized game doesnt run fucking terribly

Similar to that, yeah.

Hm, I wonder why I seem to be walking around every bug somehow (even though I put massive hours into the game)

I think maybe February?
I'd say things have improved since then in terms of general stability.

I mean no one should force people to buy anything for a game. Or rather no one should be forced to play a game. In the end I assume the game might not be for you in the current state then but as I imagine the purchase is permanent I definitely hope it'll be in the future :D

Similar to that, yeah.
Then I'm 100 sure I haven't seen this happen at all.

I love this game's beauty
[doublepost=1600509329][/doublepost]Also there's currently a free-fly going on for a week and server's are stable. If you want to try the game out go to this link:
https://robertsspaceindustries.com/promotions/ShipShowdown-Free-Fly

If you have an account you just have to enable the code in the bottom ("SHIPSHOWDOWN2950") and you can fly for free with a multitude of ships.

As for if you don't have an account yet, Either use my referal code: STAR-TZD3-4BM4

Or the referal code randomizer: https://gorefer.me/randomizer/STAR

The referal code gives you a 5k auec boost and gives whoever owns the referal code a small bonus if you ever decide to purchase the game.

might get this

do you recommend?
I personally can recommend this game.

Firstly though: Make sure your specs are good. I've personally heard that this game can also be quite heavy on the CPU and what-not.

As for other things. Try it out! free fly is currently on-going with a bunch of ships for free to enjoy among which the Gladius (One of the good fighters in the game), Avenger Titan (The usually recommended starter ship for 70 euro if you wish to put the money in as you can also get the game for 40).

Also personal recomendation: Join an org. As many other MMO games the game becomes tons more fun with organizations hosting things. This game currently relying on it for a good bit.

how much money you got to spare?
In the past I'd agree with you. But basically every ship is purchasable in-game currently and suprisingly are not even at outrageous prices if you learn how to make good money.

Not to mention a lot of persistence is in already so you will not lose your money, items or ships between wipes. Some people even reset their accounts due to bugs (This game can be pretty luck based with how many bugs you encounter, me being among the lucky ones) and still kept their items, I wouldn't count on that stuff though.

And if you are getting it, be sure to use a referal code when making an account if you haven't already.

Either use mine: STAR-TZD3-4BM4
or the referal code randomizer: https://gorefer.me/randomizer/STAR

difference between the two is simple. One gives you 5k UEC/aUEC and supports me. The other gives you 5k UEC/aUEC and supports a random bloke which could be me. I'd prefer the first but I aint one to judge.

I know it's incredibly heavy on RAM. My rig used to have 8gb and it was entirely unplayable until a friend gave me some spare stuff when he upgraded so I could get 12gb.

only if you have the computer of a god

Make sure your specs are good
I decided to do some good ol searching and on reddit found this minimum spec comment:
  • Windows 7 (64bit) with Service Pack 1, Windows 8 (64bit), Windows 10 – Anniversary Update (64bit)

  • DirectX 11 Graphics Card with 2GB RAM (4GB strongly recommended)

  • Quad Core CPU and 16GB+ RAM

  • SSD strongly recommended

I haven't experienced it as I got a lucky purchase (i7-9700 and RTX 2080 and 16gb of ram along with an SSD).
