i just miss being civilian in an active warzone
ironically getting warcrimed was fun as long as the interactions with soldiers were more than just getting randomly killed for no reason (the "getting run over by a car playing 'what is love'" death was still pretty funny, though)

The Coals vs Globs experience is 9/10 just seen through rose-tinted glasses. When we were young it was the shit, but looking back it was literally duct tape held together by people who had no idea what the fuck to do. How it didn't fall apart sooner is a mystery even to me now. I mean, we had Russia as a neutral country for crying out loud.

It’s a lore that’d require a ton of re-working to be achieved, but even then; how many players ever really looked into the lore of Coals vs Globs beyond just wanting to knows which country their char should be from?

Even the gameplay back then was janky as all hell; you can easily get your S2K kicks on other games that’re now perfectly accessible like Arma 3 and Squad that initially weren’t an option for young people playing on laptops in 2016.
