Right, first thing. As a point of principle as an Ordinal, I only authorize one full team a day, not counting the autonomous 2-3 man (that's at absolute maximum) recon teams of Phase 1s. Any actual deployments, retaliatory or otherwise, that have been taken out have (barring events) been run past me. This isn't limited to bunker attacks, but includes any and all objective-driven deployments. Sabotaging radar, hitting the tram controls, etc. etc.
If other Ordinals have been taking teams out and doing things differently, that's their prerogative, but it's clear that now's as good a time as any to start hard-documenting the deployments we run so it's demonstrable that we've been sticking to our limit.
Second thing. As far as I've been involved, our discipline has been incredibly tight. We've cracked down hard on loose trigger-fingers in favor of coordinated, objective-driven runs that minimize ammo use and asset deployment unless it's strictly necessary. Since the very beginning of this map, the stated objective when we deploy has always been priority one - either when I've remotely authorized a team or taken one out myself. We don't engage unless engaged (or engagement is inevitable, i.e. someone raises a gun and aims it at us.) and all around I've done my best to stay vigilant in keeping things measured and the playing field even. @Pyromaniac and @FreeSpy can both attest to that, as they've shown the greatest amount of improvement in slowing down and listening to the orders we dole out in the field.
I'm sure there's still areas I (and the faction at large) can improve, of course, where that discipline is concerned. That's the whole point. But if the primary concern is that transhuman engagements are just continuing 'business as usual', from ye olden days of eight-man stomp rushes, conducted as though there's zero consequences for poor discipline - especially since I'm pretty sure most of the guys under my command can vouch that I've been really pain-in-the-arse stern about people operating that way - then I can say right now that's not the case.
One final note pertaining to the perceived lack of, and in turn the supposed need for, 'consequences' - part of my leadership style is cultivating an environment where the guys under my watch don't need the threat of consequences to conduct themselves properly. That's something this community's factions have struggled with since day one. But one of the very few things I can say I'm proud of this iteration has been encouraging a faction for which proper conduct, fair game, and getting the job done (and getting it done right) are all inherently incentive enough to stay on top of their game and play it on the square.
Because they know I'll give them shit and dole out discipline if I need to, but they aren't constantly living with it held over their heads. Because they enjoy doing what they do and enjoy doing it well and doing it fair. I'm very lucky to work with this faction for that very reason.
They're here for a good time. They're here to do cool shit, which makes coordinating them with events run up by the likes of @Trains and @Appetite Ruining Kebab a breeze. And by and large, that's enough for most of 'em.
