She's got a Valyrian steel dagger, she didn't need to bother with dragon glass at all if she didn't want to. Her turning in that weapon's request to Gendry is some Chekov's Gun business; they wouldn't have included that weapon's introduction so specifically if she wasn't about to do something cool with it.
