With what staff? They jumped ship, including the server director who was later promoted to Head Staff. There was a long tangent about why WW3 was closing up shop and it was, in my opinion, a perfectly rational explanation and course of action to take. It became pretty clear that WW3 was unsustainable in the long run and had to be put down like a sick dog.

We can't keep rehashing the same bullshit over and over again. Try something new, experiment a little (don't literally do experiment unless we're doing it the old school way), branch out and find something new even if it's not officially Nebulous sanctioned at the start. Just nab some Nebulino pals and start a thing, like the Stellaris thing which seems to be slowly growing in numbers with every season. Those of us with Xbox Ones can start an Xbox Live club, those of us that play Halo 5 can form a Halo 5 clan and flesh it out, for example. We can go with Rust, Minecraft, GTA V, countless other games instead of circle jerking around the same themes or gamemodes like Frundtech and WW3 RP. Think new. Think fresh.

Think outside the box instead of confining ourselves to Gmod and RP servers, like @Zak said, we're not just a RP server. If something community started gains enough traction I'm sure the head staff would have no problem sanctioning it properly.

Hell us Halo nerds can go make a club/clan thing on Halo 5 if we REALLY felt like it and started up a little Nebulous crew on that front.
if we're gonna do that i'd really rather do MCC, because a) fuck halo 5, and b) they finally got people working on it, and in addition to unfucking the matchmaking they've said they're considering bringing it to PC

I'm just going to post this here since the staff team didn't reply to it in a conversation.

I would like to propose that Nebulous should attempt to create a co-op based roleplay.

General idea
  1. The playerbase is united under one faction.
  2. A playerbased political system. (Let the playerbase have a democracy in-game to handle IC issues, to make them feel like they can influence the world.)
  3. Donators/Premium members should have some perks, which is up to the staff to sort out.
  4. A staff team heavily concentrated on event management. (To support the co-op structure.)
  5. NPC & Event based opposition.
  6. Hunger system. (Food & Water.)
  7. No skill stats. (It just encourages OOC mingey behavior to spam train stats.)
  8. Subfactions in the same way we had engineers, medical branches and so on in WW3RP.
  9. The staff team should setup the events in such a sense, that outcomes matter and can effect the roleplay situation for the entire server. Such as map changes, punishments/penalities and rewards.
  10. Scavenging system (Optional depending on what roleplay theme we go for, it could still be interesting for the playerbase to come across interesting items.)
  11. A monetary system.
  12. Allow the playerbase a way to build structures, so that they can create a visible impact on the maps.(It could be farms or other roleplay spots that serves a purpose.)
As far as what kind of roleplay theme it should be, I think it would be wise that we setup a vote. It could be anything from a Starship Troopers kind of approach, where a large portion of the playerbase are combatants. To a more apocalyptic vibe, where there is less structure but more of a "town" feeling to it. As long as the playerbase gets unified against threats on the server, it will be immersive.

Been giving some bigger thought to the idea of MetroRP lately, just gonna throw some 2cents

  • Lore will purely be based on either the First book or the second, involving the 3 major Factions (Dirty xeno fascists/Red commie sphees/Capitalist pigs etc
  • A story line quest system that eventually puts you in a levelling progression to the status of Stalker (A term for Surface dwellers within Moscow) Which brings progression for people who like to grind for them thick scripts, and implement PK risks on deaths within Surface exhibitions supervised by Staff.

  • Mini-factions, like basically the simple idea of allowing different kinds of Rebel groups with their own ethics in Lemon punch, allow the 3 major factions to sit about, while the Smaller factions have the free will to do what they want, while this is likely to encourage circlejerks, it allows people to group up and make a name for themselves, but I'd advise against giving em scripts just to boost it up, Groups can easily Rise and fall on a occasional basis wheter its to do with Member activity or core members pked.

  • Some Economy system within the Neutral zone, encourage passive RP by having occasional Mini-events and IC drama done by various groups, while the no-mans land of the Metro is bound to be a constant danger zone, Muggings, Hostile NPCs, Toxic zones, firefights done by either Small or Major factions etc etc.
And a good spawn rate of scripts to find, to be fairly honest the "You don't need scripts to arrpee" excuse is one of the reasons it killed FTRP, regular characters had nothing to do when they got no precious script to show off and shit and they constantly relied us former staff to provide em scripts through events.

Oh and lastly bring PAC3 for premium members for that sexy Customisation.

  • Either A fakelands surface of Moscow or some separate server with a different map to compensate Stalkers

problem is that a lot of the community is divided oocly on who is who's friend and it'd end up with fake factions being made just for conflict i feel

Well the point of going with a cooperative roleplay experience, would be that all the players are on the same side. (Unless donators/premium people would be allowed to join some sub-factions that are hostile towards the main playerbase.)

Like imagine a scenario like starship troopers or a zombie apocalypse, you will be greatly outnumbered by enemies and unless you work together it will just result in everyones death. At least I'd like to have some story driven coop server, where people will have to sacrifice themselves (PK) for the greater good of the group.

Well I think it's human nature to form groups with like-minded people. If there is a democratic system involved around key-positions in a lore, you would please the majority.

With the nearing end of the war, the German army begins its frantic efforts to push out wonder weapons as the Red Army closes in on Germany. There is an increased effort to have wunderwaffe divisions push out many vengeance weapons to hold the advancing Soviet foes off. A breakthrough is made for the German army, and new innovations like highly experimental bio engineering and armor are made. In a panic, they begin to push out this experimental technology with little testing, sending everything they have at their foes. Following these breakthroughs, a mixture of regular infantry and genetically modified SS super soldiers move up to defend their homeland.
At the same time, the members of the Ahnenerbe (an occult organization) make a chilling discovery in Germany deep under the surface that leads to the opening of an inter dimensional portal to what is known in Norse mythology as Hellheim. An army of hellish creatures and entities are released onto the surface, stalking the countryside of Germany as the war rages on.

What is this?: This is a historical themed horror server following Soviet soldiers in the final days of the war. Players will only play as Soviet soldiers, being tormented by a mixture of paranormal elements and Nazi super soldiers, and stragglers of the Wehrmacht who were left behind in the retreat. This server will place heavy emphasis on creativity from staff members, who will act as game managers and will by default be able to roleplay as paranormal elements, super soldiers, or regular Wehrmacht. The sky is the limit for what you can do as paranormal elements, and you can be as creative as you want. They can be non hostile oddities and phenomenon, or they could be hostile creatures. Same thing goes for roleplaying as things like the super soldiers. Of course certain limits will be in place but the intention is for there to be a never ending supply of creativity from our staff team with an emphasis on creative spontaneous mini events/encounters.
Will S2K be a major factor?: So and so. Most of the server will involve roleplay, there may be some situations where s2k is needed but due to there only being a soviet faction and a sort of mini event only Nazi/paranormal faction.

What the players will play as, a rag tag group of soldiers tormented by forces far more advanced than themselves. Trapped in their makeshift camps as they try pushing further into the country, they are met with constant adversity. Think of how they would function as how regular soldiers function when we had WW3RP, they go out on patrols with NCOS, though none of these men have radios or any way to reconnect to their FOB if they get absolutley fucked by paranormal entities or super soldiers on the field. They will stay in their base camp for the most part and their base camp will shift around the maps we play on, with there being two main areas. The first main area will be the default spawn point/command center. The second area will be a sort of constantly moving camp set up by players that becomes a spawn point when established. These loosely made camps will consist of tents, sandbags, and whatever building is captured, if there are any captured. When these temporary areas are established, they will also act as a spawn point and an area where soldiers can stay within. These camps being overran is always a possibility.

The Wehrmacht

A band of soldiers fighting for their homeland, they often move out in small patrols around the land or hold temporary defensive positions to harass the Soviets. They are often forced out into the field with little actual desire to fight, scared for their lives by the hellish entities roaming the field. There are rumors circulating among the men that in accordance to Norse mythology, those members of the Wehrmacht who fought with little honor and cowards would be sent straight to Hellheim. These rumors turn out to be true, as any soldier who dies from the elements or was a dishonorable man in life comes back as possessed violent corpses, though they are unable to properly utilize guns, they can operate melee weapons and have a small amount of intelligence left. Fast and looking only to inflict pain on others, they are truly a force to be reckoned with. These are characters that will only be played as event characters.

An elite group of fighters who have willingly agreed to genetic modification. Some members of their forces have very minor amounts of genetic modification, while others have been genetically modified to the point where they lose their humanity and become mindless killers. All of these men are given top of the line armor and weaponry, and they are often sent out to fight on the front lines against the Red Army in roaming death squads, and they are also used to selectively combat paranormal entities that pose a threat to the Wehrmacht. These are basically the OTA of this game mode, and whatever genetic modifications (lets just think of them as mutations honestly) staff members want to role play them having can go ahead and do so within reason. These are still individuals who are fundamentally human beings, and there are limits as to what they can do power wise.

A series of paranormal entities consisting of deceased Nordic souls, there is a large amount of variation with these paranormal entities, some can be simple demonic creatures, while others can be elaborate tricksters with human qualities and deadly intent. Hellheim is a huge place, and there is a lot that has been stuck in this realm just eager to get out and torment the living. These photos are from a few models that we can use for these horrific creatures, but keep in mind they are not just limited to these models. We can also have creatures made from mixtures of models and PAC gear, as I stated before, the sky is the limit and you can roleplay as staff whatever paranormal thing you want to within reason. This can range from demons, to human like entities that act creepy and stalk people, to even paranormal anomalies like floating objects.
