I found HoI3 to be extremely easy, and I was playing on Normal most of the time. Or did you mean it was unplayable because it was too easy... Not sure.

it was unplayable manually, it was hard to manage when it was ai mode, but i managed to win as germany.
if you did find it easy, i applaud you, because even one of the paradox guys that is the best in their office at hoi4 said he didn't know how to play hoi3 either lol

Nah, HOI4 seems to be much more simple to play, they focused on making it more simple as everyone found hoi3 too hard. Don't worry, they have developer tutorials too over at their youtube channel! :)
