I'm aware, I've just seen a huge Russian community in a lot of RPs. Places like GTA 5 RP have a massive presence, I don't really know many other large scale RP communities so I can't comment otherwise.

Really what I'd enjoy is a fully dynamic hl2rp server, at the same level as say a DnD game. Start off from the Union invading, have people play humanity, then leave it up to the players how things play out. No results are preordained. Maybe by pure chance humanity fights off the Union. Maybe they're enslaved like our lore, rebel, and unify, then take the fight to the uu. Maybe they're integrated into the combine empire and we follow that path.

Alas it is only a dream, or a reworked DnD system...

Ever since I fell in love with serious roleplay back in 2017 when i first played on HL2RP nebulous, I really just don't like voice-chat-Serious-RP anymore. It's weird and obnoxious how one guy sounds like a mature 20 year old when the other sounds like a 9 year old.

like many gamemodes darkRP has been ruined, it’s now a grimy cesspool of kids optimising their 30x30km bases that resemble fort knox and have bullshit pixel peek spots where they have the ability to shoot your toes off with their overpowered rifle that they’ve unboxed through some scuffed addon that the owner bought for $40 and is now utilising to farm money off these poor garry’s mod gamers

the only good that is left in garry’s mod isn’t even in sandbox, which is now populated by elitist build servers and ultra ‘progressive’ communities that borderline dox players for speech that slightly deviates off the course of political correctness

nebulous is the only decent server in this game, don’t even get me started on the megacommunities that have a literal business structure with “CEO”s that likely pull in roughly six figures per annum

Imo I like the gritty aspect and the idea of the air exchange throughout the hl2 beta and wish there were more of those servers around which actually did it properly

You know, maybe the new unique severs will be reviving Gmod RP. TnB is releasing a new server, and we're releasing ww3rp. I'm sure SOMETHING can attract a lot of attention or people, maybe mixed with a sale or winter break.

Besides that interesting server called Begotten, I have never seen any twisted edgy horror serious RP server. ( Minus SCP-RP, any sort of ApocalypseRP and all that generic common shit. )

Would be nice to play on a horror serious RP server. The passive RP would be good in my opinion. I imagine people could do twisted things but without making it super extremely edgy. Have it whitelisted, if needed. Make it "apply to play". Even a server like that needs rules.

we’re barely getting any new players dude, the amount of forum accounts signing up in 2019 is fuck all compared to what we had - if we had a whitelisted community there wouldn’t be much difference tbh

It'd make a dent imo, just because they don't sign up on the forums doesn't mean we don't see new players now and again. At least now people can join, having to go through an app just to play would put people off. Most of the people in this community started off as minges lol

I think Jamie did a comparison a few months ago; while there was a drop in new people joining vs 2016 it was extremely small and actually an increase over 2017. The problem every big SeriousRP server has had in the past few years is just the drop in overall people.

HL2RP (and HL2 in general) is very popular in Russia and they have their own very isolated communities as a result because there's no effort from any of them to integrate with foreigners. They're effectively their own isolated bubble and their options are so limited for making servers that the very few big ones (mostly Postbellum) are still around the '2015' peak playercount wise.

That being said even they've suffered like other big communities, just to a lesser degree.

Unless you speak Russian though you aren't getting far at all, probably not even out of the trainstation due to checkpoints. The rest of the server is just CityRP.

Speaking of this, "Premium" is a player-made choice, it shouldn't be forced onto them. Just thought I'd add. After all, not everybody likes to spend their money online and some can't even do that at all.

Premium might have it's privileges, but it's most important quality of it is that it supports the creators, not "oh shit, i can now be a zombie and have pet flags to build things!!1"
