ive never heard or looked into this game before now but those big fucking gamer hitmarkers are upsetting me so much, like look at l4d2 and see how you tell you hit something from like a hole appearing in the zombies stomach, or an arm getting blasted off, vs the big BOINGGINGN white hitmarker from mw2 appearing on your screen

yeah you know you hit shit in l4d cause there's a gnarly squelch noise from organs being blown apart and a huge red cloud of viscera shooting out of the zombie

even with no UI indicator you know when you've landed a shot

that's why Tanks are so comparatively scary in that game because they're one of the few enemies that just dont react to your bullets

its when a copycat game like this comes out

that you finally realize how much depth there actually is under the simplistic surface of l4d2

like sots said, there are no hitmarkers in l4d2 because you don't need them, limbs fall off or stomaches explode

special infected mostly have specific death sounds/effects

etc

excellent examples of good intuitive game design that is incredibly understated

Just wanted to clarify the gameplay in this vid is from the closed beta I think and not the latest beta or whatever

But I doubt there's much difference

really setting themselves up to fail when they compete with a perfect game, a cult classic that's still played to this day and then they clone it but make it worse. no one that plays source games care about shiny new visuals with massive downgrades on all other fields

you could probably download reskins and update packs for the textures and come out with a better looking game than back 4 blood

also i cant really tell by that video if its meant to be hitscan or projectile on b4b but that shit looks so fucking delayed its unsatisfying as hell especially the shotgun. small things that consistently feel "off" really dont compliment a game that's all about gameplay, feel and consistency
