[doublepost=1593897333][/doublepost]Oh right almost forgot to mention - the concept for the subway tunnels has changed slightly! I thought it that the old tunnels were essentially sewers but with electrified tracks instead of swamp water, so now the subway tunnels will be a mixture of the electrified tracks but also a variety of old back areas, storage rooms, maintenance hallways, Japan Rail offices, etc.

Would you guys prefer a fully decked out subway network with tons of back areas n shit, or would you like the subway tunnels to be less expansive (still have back areas n stuff) and instead including a separate canals network as well?

*there may be one or two canal-like areas in the subway bit

disagree for canals agree for subway tunnels

Goodbye murky pisswater, hello electrified tracks and more interesting places to explore

EDIT: The subway will follow a very similar design style to that of nt_transit, there are some changes that I've made but essentially I'm keeping it the same. Tell me what you think of this :grinning:

EDIT 2: I've decided to bring in more real-world Tokyo examples for the subway to differentiate it from Neotokyo (at least the subway platform).

gotta say, you guys seem to love the features I'm adding but I haven't yet asked - what do you absolutely want me to add? Maybe no map has ever done it, maybe 100 maps have done it, maybe it's just quality of life?

PS: when I remake backalleys I might keep the car fire somehow :)

Give the insurgents some in-city places to hide out and I don't mean secret bases and stuff, just stuff that branches out of the city which is still part of the city but just far enough away/run-down enough for the combine to not have troops patrolling it by default, So CZ-4 of the current map but maybe a bit more places.

Honestly, give the backalleys more life and detail
The backalleys will be comprised mainly of an abandoned ballistrade (outdoor shopping centre pretty much) along with some rundown buildings and various alleys leading to parts of the city. Since I've expanded the layout a bit backalleys will be larger.

It's been a while so here's a little update, since i'm going with a pre-war quarantine type thing I whipped up this poster. They only appear using damaged variants ingame but here's the clean one.

this was the best name I could think of (its an abbreviation of some latin and the word Xen)

when do you expect the map to be finished, @Dev ? it looks golden from screenshots and seems to slowly be inching to completion from the to-do list.

The to-do list is less a representation of completion and more to do with the features of the map, i add to the checklist or remove from it every now and then if something changes, i dont really have a specific release date currently as the dates ive given have been met with more issues so there just isn't any point

the subway station, this is where plays will spawn. It's one of the smaller stations since I wanted to make it similar to the original layout-wise. I will be adding a train here.

Two damaged variants will be seen in-game, the other one is just for reference.

The newer quarantine zone sign, combine variant.

This won't be opaque ingame, I'll be using a vmt file to make it translucent.


This sign is representative of the new combine signage I'm aiming at producing
